Even with max resolution set, the photos in the app are blurry, even though they are not in the photo app. Of course I didn’t notice it until I had paid for the app.

This little app does work really good. We have an iPad showing a shared album in our living room. It shuffles through the photos with no problems or interruptions.

I needed a way to convert an old iPad 2 (32 GB, iOS 9.3.5) into an internet-connected digital photo frame. [Many digital photo frames sync their photos through Asian servers]. With LiveFrame, I have been to easily display about 4,000 (> 14 GB) of photos in a slideshow across two Apple Photos shared albums. I can set: display time, two transition choices, when to update the albums online, photos resolution, fit-to-frame, display of time/date/weather. On the iPad, I had to change the settings for the Photos app to “Optimize iPad Storage” to prevent the app from hanging.

Works very well on my old 32 GB iPad 2 running iOS 9.3.5! I am able to slideshow a shared iCloud Photos album with > 3,000 pictures. The shared album refreshes seamlessly after each slideshow cycle and any interim updates to the album are displayed automatically. My first load of > 1,000 pictures from iCloud took a few minutes, but subsequent album refreshes have taken < 1 minute. No videos play, but that’s fine. I have not found the ability to run background music, shuffle or reorder album pictures, change slideshow timing or adjust the onscreen date/time display—these might be there, but I haven’t found them. One also has the option of loading pictures from Dropbox, Google, etc. I have not yet seen the memory issue some others have reported: a need to clear device storage regularly. My device reports the app only using about 31 MB now after running continuously for a few days. $4.99 price beats >$100 for a dedicated digital picture frame that may or may not leak your photo album to the internet or Asia.

This is a great app for repurposing an old iPad into a digital photo frame. I have a few ideas for the developer to enhance functionality: - Consider adding the option for a colored square (user selectable for opacity and color) around the clock and weather. This will allow us to read the weather and time when photos with white backgrounds are displayed - Allow users to pinch-resize the time and weather to dynamically resize these elements to whatever size we see fit. This is a great app. With these changes above, I’ll be able to more successfully use it as a clock as well. Thank you for supporting old iPads! Keeping compatibility with the older iPad OS is key to keep these devices from going into the landfill.

No matter enable or disable the random option, the app always starts playing from the first picture in the list.

It needs an update. You should be able to select the albums that you created. Also, if you have a lot of photos and select all photos, and shuffle, it takes very long to load and sometimes crashes. It has good qualities like displaying the file name

I recently got this app for a photo album. It stops after about 6 photos and ask me to buy the add free option. I purchased it for $4.99 and it still stops and asks me to upgrade.

Few months and empty iPad storage is full!! You can’t delete this temp files or reset setting or reinstall app. Only erase iPad fully Storage setting shows you that there is no available space on iPad but apps on the list don’t use that much space. Picture album is only 240 Mb!!!

I never write reviews but I was looking for an app that would turn my iPad into a digital frame so I could use it traveling.. and this app is perfect! Easy to use and has all the features of my digital frame at home. Thank you!!
