Offline Landkarte der Welt für iPhone und iPad. Fast so schön wie eine Papierkarte – nur vielfältiger.
- für Wanderer: mit gut lesbarer Darstellung der Geländeform, auch im hintersten Winkel ohne Internet 
- für Velofahrer: mit Velorouten-Netz, Geschwindigkeits- und Distanzanzeige

3D Neige-Ansicht
- Neige das Gerät in beliebige Richtungen um einen besseren Eindruck des Geländes zu erhalten. Mehr Info auf 

Suchfunktion
- Suche nach Orten, Strassen, Berge, usw. Es wird dazu keine Internetverbindung benötigt.

Kartenmaterial
- MapOut basiert auf dem OpenStreetMap-Projekt, dem «Wikipedia der Karten» – Korrekturen und Ergänzungen kannst Du selber auf OpenStreetMap.org vornehmen. Mit periodischen Updates werden jeweils aktuelle Karten ausgeliefert.
- Lade die Regionen Deiner Wahl herunter - die Karten sind nun ohne Internetverbindung anzeigbar (Offline-Karte).

Touren
- Zeichnen: Zeichne Deine eigenen Touren und Wegpunkte direkt auf die Karte. Retuschiere existierende Touren und importierte GPX Dateien oder lass sie direkt auf das Wegnetz schnappen
- Importieren: mit einem gratis «MapOut.me» Konto können «Wegbeschreibungen» per Email an dein Gerät gesendet werden. GPS-Touren findest du als gpx or kml Dateien auf vielen Webseiten mit Tipps zum Wandern oder Biken (z.B. auf www.gpsies.com)
- Aufnehmen: mache «Aufnahmen» deiner eigenen Touren und teile sie mit Freunden. 
- Informationen: schnelle Übersicht zu jeder Tour – Länge, Höhendifferenz, Kartenausschnitt und Streckenprofil

Dann hätte ich ein paar Vorschläge: - Split View ermöglichen - Auswahl ermöglichen, dass nur in einem Ordner abgelegte Strecken und Punkte auf der Karte sichtbar sind - Möglichkeit, zwei vorhandene Strecken zu einer zu verbinden (sofern sie sich am Ende berühren) Das wär doch was, oder?

Die App ist übersichtlich, nicht überladen und von den Entwicklern regelmässig gepflegt. Ihre Optik und Bedienung haben sich nur geringfügig verändert, sie waren von Beginn an einfach gut. Für mich ideal für die Planung meiner Fahrradtouren und für alltägliche geografische Recherchen. Die Kipp-Ansicht mag eine Spielerei sein, lässt einem das Gelände jedoch sehr gut einschätzen.

### ***** "MapOut: 6-Sterne-App"
MapOut: ist für mich eine 6 Sterne App

Seit vielen Jahren nutze ich diese Wander-App. Wander-App ist jedoch untertrieben, denn mit der Pfadbezeichnung T1 bis T6 ist man auch im Hochgebirge gut beraten. Meine Erfahrung ! Weltweit offline nutzbar. Die rechteckigen Kartenkacheln zuhause runterladen und los gehts. Selbst mit meinem Jahrgang 1943 musste ich die Bedienungsanleitung nur selten konsultieren. Apropos Anleitung: Sie ist im Netz verfügbar und erspart mir eine weitere Aufzählung von Superlativen. 

Habe schon etliche Apps getestet. Zum Abschluss erlaube ich mir ein Ratschlag: Such dir die richtige App und bleib dabei, dann kennst du auch alle Feinheiten und kommst nicht in Verlegenheit, wenn es mal hektisch wird.

### ***** "Einfach die Nummer 1!"
Alles drin, alles dran. Und alles ohne WLAN. Die beste Navi überhaupt, seit 7-8 Jahren für mich und einige meine Freunde. Zuverlässige Karten, funktioniert überall, man kann Wegpunkte setzen und Touren magnetisch planen, man kann GPX Daten einfügen. Man kann alles, ausser Routing. Aber das brauche ich nie.
