MediBang Paint for iPhone

Not only have the ads increased by an insane amount within the last 2 years, but now the app itself doesn’t work. Every single time I create a save file or save my work, no save file turns up in the gallery. Customer service doesn’t help, support desk doesn't help. It’s sad to see an app I use to love go to the bins. It’s even sadder to see art I've worked on for upwards of 2 hours to disappear from my library.

This used to be a great app for drawing and editing. There would be ads visible, but nothing unexpected. I used the free version, so completely understandable. With the new update, you have to watch an ad to use even basic tools… and even then, you can only use the tool for 3 hours. Then you have to watch another ad! I’ve been using this app for YEARS (probably close to a decade) so I considered buying the premium version - primarily because I’m used to the app, but also since I didn’t mind supporting the company since I’ve used the app for so long. But it’s a subscription-based premium version. You can’t even pay a flat fee to permanently get rid of ads. Definitely not worth it! Even paying for the premium subscription, you can get better features from other apps for less. Don’t bother downloading unless you want a steep learning curve and incessant ads for basic features.

Overall this app used to be a lot better. They had so many free brushes on the cloud that are essential for many artists’s styles. Then they suddenly locked nearly all of them behind a paywall. I don’t mind programs having payed for features, but doing this to a once free feature is really shady, and makes them less accessible. I can’t recommend this art program to anyone anymore for that reason, there exists other programs where the brushes are all completely free, this just feels like a waste in comparison.

I have used this app for well over 3 years and it’s been amazing. A cool thing about this was there were little to no ads and now you have to watch an ad to draw for 3 hours or pay. MediBang you’ve gotten greedy.

Impossible to get started

I know you need to make money and stuff, but you’re just going too far at this point. The ads weren’t too bad, but now you have to watch an ad for very basic brushes, like, you can’t put a pencil brush behind a paywall, that’s just too much. I’m honestly so, so disappointed in this app, I’ve been using it for years, but now it’s getting to the point where it is unusable… you’re going too far!!!

This was a great app for drawing. The ads were too bad and recently they’ve started to be come more intrusive. To even start drawing now you need to watch and ad, it’s ridiculous the amount of ads, like I was fine with the ads before as they didn’t really get in the way but now they block the screen.

i’ve been using medibang for YEARS and have grown as an artist using this app and all its features. unfortunately they have grown money hungry and all my favorite brushes are now behind a paywall and the ads have become insufferable. i hate to leave this app since its the one i’ve grown most comfortable with and has many wonderful features i have taken the time to learn, but its just too much to put up with anymore

ive been using this app for at least a decade, its sad to see random brushes get hidden behind paywalls out of nowhere 😭😭!!
