Meditation Timer | Samsara

This is my favorite meditation app! It has a thoughtful and clean design with customization options that let you simply meditate without the bloat found in other apps. Just tap and sit. 😌

I used to love this app, but it’s changed to a subscription model. It’s UI isn’t as nice as it used to be, and all the previous features are now locked. Edit: Yes, I could pay again for lifetime access, but as a long-time user who paid for the app with certain features available that have now been taken away, I don’t trust I won’t have to keep paying more and more “lifetime access” fees to continue to use the features I used to have. Edit 2: Changing my review to 4 stars because the developer has now allowed us long-time users to access the old features. I really appreciate the focus on customer support!

Used to do the one thing I needed it to do, now tries to upsell me things I don’t want or need and charge for things it used to do for free. Such a bummer. Samsara indeed.

This is the perfect app for giving you ease when meditating.

Veteran user for years. App changed to subscription-based unfortunately. One nagging pain point is that users are locked out and unable to clear former saved timers… unless you pay. There WAS a one-time price option but they axed it (as if they couldn’t make this even worse). Sad to see this app implode for the shakedown. Can’t any dev be OK with selling a simple app anymore‽ Former review: This app is elegant and sleek and doesn’t require a monthly subscription. Definitely worth purchasing. No ads or other annoying additives seen in so many apps. Great app!

I paid for this app many years ago. I love the app and have recommended it to probably close to 100 people when I’ve taught meditation. Suddenly, they want me to now pay $30/year to get the exact things I was using for years. If you don’t pay the only bell you can use is SUPER high pitched. I’m going to see what is available on other apps. Maybe I’ll have to pay for another app but at least I won’t be paying twice.

This was the best meditation app I could find. Had it for years and loved the minimalist design. Today all of a sudden I need a subscription to get the basic features that were there for years? C’mon! No way am I subscribing for a timer. Time to find a new app unfortunately. Was 5 stars. You ruined it.

This app's periodic badgering of you into a subscription is not conducive to a meditation practice. This morning the app forced me into a new setup process that locked my previous profiles and bell selections behind a subscription paywall. Although I don't mind paying a reasonable subscription price for an app I use daily, $30 a year is rich for a simple app that is barely more than a timer with bells. I bought this app in 2019, and it has since then been gradually shifting features included in the original purchase behind a subscription paywall. I thought changing the terms of the original deal was not allowed on the App Store. In any case, it's not ethical.

Love the meditation bells that take us into the meditation and then lead us out again. This is my preferred meditation app.

Great support for my practice! I’ve been using Samsara for years and appreciate the ways I can adapt it to fit what I need in a given time.
