Pretty okay

The group should be free to create, but have now changed and have a payment plan.

Notifications

2 useless notifications within a day of using the app with no obvious way of stopping the ads while keeping the essentials. My attention IS my life. Until companies learn to respect our attention they don’t get my business.

Great Concept not great app

Hard to find the events that you have schedule to go. Alway suggest crazy events that are far away from the 19 meetups that I subscribe on. It can’t add events to my calendar although I have given it right to add to my calendar. Does not work properly on iPad.

Signal/Noise ratio abhorrent

It’s impossible to reduce the amount of notifications this app generates to a useful minimum. You will be bothered and bombarded with tons of messages, that have only one purpose: to use their app more. By disabling all notifications you will miss critical messages and updates from your groups and events though. Please leave it to me to decide when to organize the next event, especially when I’m still on the way home from the last one. And no, I don’t want to start another group. And no, just no. Just tell me, if someone posted something on my group or sent me a message. Also it will tell you if someone liked a comment you made but not if someone replied. Like not at all.

Spam spam spam

Several times a day the app sends me promotions for some even happening sometime in the future. Three app is a great idea but sadly completely useless since you get so much spam.

Misleading notifications

The notification settings are misleading, there's no way to turn off the annoying"open meetup today" notification and everytime I get it I keep searching the settings and finding nothing.

Can’t login or resent password

Login via social network or password doesn’t work. Reset password doesn’t work I get message Sorry, it looks like a there’s a problem Please try again later

Event chat working poorly

Overall I like the Meetup app and everythibg that is related but currently the event chat is working very poorly to the point that it makes the total experience suffer.

Bad and expensive for organizers

The app shuts down all the time, a lot of the features are defect and for organizes many features are missing. All free apps on my phone are way more sophisticated and this is the one I’ve paid the most to use. Works OK to find events though.
