Wonderful app and resource to help manage low fodmap dietary requirements. Plus the diary is so handy to record symptoms and food. Recipes are a wonderful addition.
They call the app FodApp
This app is ok, but quite limited in what brands it seems to cover. For instance you can’t type in a specific brand name, and the brands it does have don’t seem to be readily available at Coles/Woolies. I was expecting something a lot more user friendly for the price point.
I was so excited to find something to help me on my new fodmap diet journey only to be way overcharged as opposed to the $12.99 it was displayed as. Can someone contact me for a refund please I would never have purchased the app if I knew I’d be charged $32.48 for it!!!
This app is a useful database for those wanting to explore the FODMAP diet. It’s a basic UI design, a bit dated for modern standards, and needs a good overhaul cosmetically. Also, some of the data is somewhat confusing, listing multiple entries of the same food and then having different results and warnings for different listings. Quite confusing and contradictory. Really needs much better quality assurance to ensure things make sense. Even if the data is being updated every so often, I’m assuming there’s not a lot of QA happening now that the app is quite old. Worth the money? Not really. There’s other apps out there that equal this and are free. This app is begging for a modernisation.
I downloaded this app when I was first diagnosed with FODMAP sensitivity. While I have used the app occasionally over the years, its information are incomplete and inconsistent, so I don't use it nearly as much as I feel I should. The research Monash has done is fantastic and is a huge help to people with FODMAP sensitivities, but the limitations of the app make it of less use than a quick internet search. For example, the app tells me that "Seed, sunflower, hulled" is considered a safe food...as long as I eat 2 teaspoons/6 grams or less. However, one or two gluten-free crackers made from sunflower seeds can easily exceed that limit, so I still have no idea what's safe. An internet search tells me that sunflower seeds can be considered safe in amounts up to 70 grams. Increased functionality and consistency in information would make this app a genuine boon to people with FODMAP sensitivities. This app could greatly improve by consistently providing users with information about how much of a "safe" food is completely safe and how much of that food is unsafe depending on the different FODMAP levels, due to different individuals' sensitivities to specific FODMAPs. Thank you to Monash and to the app developers for this app; I found it helpful when I was first diagnosed as a way to broadly identify high-FODMAP foods. Unfortunately I do not find it very useful, and it feels like I wasted my money. I look forward future functionality updates.
Excellent reference for tackling the low FODMAP diet. Easy food lookup function. Could be improved by adding more recipes and moving important information that is buried in the blog.
No trouble navigating
Annoyed . This app doesn’t calorie count or let you enter the food you’ve eaten to give you a rating. The foods are fatty and big in carbs. Basically refers you to dieticians. Don’t buy.
