一般的なトリガーポイントと70以上の筋肉の関連痛パターンを解説しているアプリケーション。160以上のトリガーポイントと解その関連痛パターンを分かりやすく説明しています。

各筋肉の解説画面では関連痛パターンとトリガーポイントの位置を分かりやすい図で表示してあり、筋の作用、関連痛パターン、またその筋の特徴を文章でわかりやすく説明しています。

Muscle Trigger Pointsアプリではリストから各筋肉を選択するか、または全体図から人体各部位を選び、その部位に関連する筋肉を選択することもでき、部位別の痛みの原因を確認したい時にとても便利です。

トリガーポイントとは筋肉の中の硬結(硬く緊張している部位)のことで、痛みの原因として考えられている部位のことです。トリガーポイントが原因の痛みは、必ずしもそのトリガーポイント周辺に痛みがでるわけではなく、むしろ体の別の場所に痛みを引き起こす原因と考えられています。このアプリケーションはマッサージセラピスト、理学療法士、カイロプラクター、または筋の痛みの原因を見つけたいと思う全ての人に非常に役に立つアプリケーションであり、また筋の作用を学習する上でも有効です。

身体の痛みがどの筋肉に起因するかを図解してくれている。痛い部分を湿布で誤魔化すより、根本的にどの筋肉の負担がこの痛みを引き起こしているのかを知ることで、実践的に対処ができるようになるだろう。
日本語非対応だが、おおむねグラフィックで十分理解できると思う。
ツボ押しの解説ではないので注意。例えば耳周辺の痛みは胸鎖乳突筋という首筋の筋肉がトリガーになっているが、適切なケアは「首筋をさする」であって、揉むことではない。
無理なセルフケアは禁物だが、座り方や立ち方といった姿勢、布団や枕や椅子の選び方や使い方の参考になるだろう。
