My Aurora Forecast Pro

Wij kijken iedere avond op de live cam en de Galerij. Dat geeft ons voorpret, we gaan voor het 3e jaar naar het noorden van Scandinavië om het licht te spotten.

Ik heb deze app gebruikt toen ik bij de poolcirkel stond in Finland. Ik heb doordat ik de juiste informatie kreeg , de aller mooiste foto’s kunnen maken. Alle informatie is te vinden, dus zeker de moeite waard om op je telefoon te hebben.

Fijne app met goede indicatie waar (real-time) het noorderlicht zichtbaar zou kunnen zijn. Geeft waarschuwingen bij verhoogde kans op waarneming in je eigen omgeving.

App gekocht. Vooral om de “i” te kunnen bekijken. De advertenties verdwijnen wel maar verder biedt de pro versie niet veel extras. De link waar de extra info staat werkt ook daar niet. Heel jammer.

I don’t regret buying the pro version to get rid of those bloody ads. Forecast was pretty reliable, even days in advance. If you’re away from light pollution, it might pay to check for yourself if there are auroras going on when the kp index and cloud forecast are good, even if you haven’t received a notification. Used it in Iceland in winter 2018-19.

I use this app when I’m traveling to Iceland or want to see the aurora activity. Now I’m in Iceland and I saw the activity showing 3,33 KP index and clear sky. The aurora draw (orange part) was over Iceland and after 3 hours waiting nothing happened. The sky got cloudy again and I drove back to the hotel. Seems that you need to be lucky, the app just give you an info that is available at NASA and maybe it is right.

While in Kiilopaa finland no notification received on phone while app did show perfect conditions.

Gives messages about possibility of high northern light activity days in advance, on the same day, just before and when the activity is suddenly becoming high for your, or any location you want.

Easy and accurate , reliable, app , it’s a must !

Used this app during Iceland vacation, and it’s alerts we’re right on the money
