Met de MyNeato-app kun je je Neato-robotstofzuiger aan je dagelijkse schoonmaakbehoeften aanpassen en de schoonmaak van je huis van overal beheren.

Of je nu thuis bent of niet, met de MyNeato-app kun je:
1. Het schoonmaken starten, stoppen of pauzeren 
2. Meldingen ontvangen over de status van je Neato 
3. Regelmatige schoonmaakroutines plannen die bij je levensstijl passen 
4. Toegang krijgen tot een schoonmaakoverzicht dat laat zien waar je Neato heeft schoongemaakt
5. De Eco- of Turbo- en Max-modus* selecteren
6. Virtuele No-Go Zones instellen om je Neato te sturen waar hij niet mag komen of Zones die hij specifiek moet schoonmaken*

An droid app does not work at all on Neato D8. No floor plans display after cleaning, no schedules stored, even connection to robot is removed by simply restarting the app. Switching between an droid and i phone  apps wipes both apps completely. Can this be fixed please?

Update july ‘23: well… that is one way for Neato to deal with issues… Neato ceases to exist, promisses 5 year support (???) and cloudservices/repairs

Bought a D8 last november, thinking the app ‘can’t be as bad as people write in the comments’. Unfortunately, it is really poor. From what I have seen at a family member with an older D-type, the app back then was reasonably good. The current app misses so many features: - there is no iot support - there is no apple/siri/homekit support - there is no multi floor support (after more than a year of promising that) - there is no possibility to make a no go line, or differently shaped areas, only squared zones that are impossible to draw in case the layout of the house is not straight or if the bot created multiple of the same wrong scan, projecting a whole room/hallway to be not straight. - there is no possibility to see the live and actual cleaning trajectory of the bot, let alone after a cleaning round is completed (this could show how an area could be inexplicably skipped during cleaning -area showing white, instead of blue). With these aspects missing or being incorrect, buying the D8 seems to be a mistake. I am very sure that the bot itself is good enough to compete with others on the market. But the app, the lack of decent support, lack of having a brand support community where users can share their experiences and where Neato community managers or product experts listen to users and try to solve issues through app- and firmware-updates, makes me consider to move away from this brand within a few months. So Neato, please, instead of wasting time by just trying to give emphatic feedback on reviews in the appstore, fix the user experience by actually overhauling the app, fix bugs and add the (promised) features to it, so that users can utilize their expensive bots the way the should be able to and not having them move over to another brand.

Shamefull no Apple Siri Shortcuts in this new app version. I bought it because Neato advertises they do cooperate with Siri Shortcuts. So this smart robot isn’t that smart as they claim and I will send it back!

### **--- "Frustratingly difficult to use"
Once you have a map and created zones to deny the neato access to places where it is likely to get stuck or do damage it works reliably. To get to that point is frustratingly difficult. 

You need the app to create the no go zones required for a successful cleaning round. For that you need the neato to create a map first, which means letting it finish a cleaning round. See the catch-22? This means that for this first cleaning you must make the entire cleaning area (floor) neato-proof by physically blocking access to any locations where it could get stuck or do damage. This means moving furniture and erecting barriers with whatever you have at hand. A stuck neato means you’l likely have to restart the cleaning round because the neato will have lost its bearings, preventing it from creating a sufficiently accurate map. Depending on the complexity of layout, prepare to spend several hours of iterating until you have guided it to complete a cleaning round. 

Then you can finally block areas in the app. This can be a puzzle in itself because you can only draw straight rectangles for some reason. Neither the rectangles nor the maps can be rotated. This means emulating slanted areas/lines by creating many little rectangles. Unfortunately manipulating the rectangles is difficult to do in the app, it requires very precise positioning that is difficult to do on a touch screen. 

Ohh, and you can only have one map, the multiple map (floor) option seems to be perpetually “coming soon”. It feels like a beta version. There is so much that could be done to make this a much better app, and much potential for further development. However, it appears that Neato is unwilling or unable to improve the app which is quite worrying actually because you really need this app to get your neato to work.

Ik ben overgestapt van een D7 naar een D9 en het lukt me niet om in deze app schuine no-go lines te plaatsen. Alleenmaar rechte vierkantjes. Terwijl de map schuin op de telefoon is geprojecteerd. Verder ziet de D9 bij elke run net weer een andere map, waardoor de no-go lines niet meer overeenkomen met waar ik ze heb geplaatst. Totaal waardeloos dit.  Met een nieuw produkt komen en dan technologische achteruitgang boeken, dit maak ik niet vaak mee.
En waarom staat de laatste versie van de map achteraan!?

Bought the D10 because wanted multiple floor maps support and bought it assuming there would be Siri support as advertised when the new series was introduced back in 2020. 

But no support for Siri or multiple maps until now. While Neato shamelessly keeps advertising multiple floor maps on their website. 

Otherwise the app works.

There is so much room for improvement here.. above all, it’s a shame the app isn’t more developed, as the robot cleaner itself is a good product! I’m missing options to save multiple maps (says it will be updated but been that way for months), being able to select (only) rooms to focus on instead of the robot going everywhere, or deleting wrongfully created maps - they just stack up now? Really hope the app dev team steps up their game, nowhere near the competition!

Zoals de titel zegt is de d10 een goed en degelijk apparaat. Maakt goed schoon! De app daarentegen is waardeloos. No go lines kan je alleen in vierkantjes plaatsen. Weinig verdere opties in de app zelf. Je kan niet “live” zien waar in de plattegrond de neato zich bevindt.
Van een apparaat van 600+ euro had ik toch iets meer verwacht!
