Great and easy to use app for reporting potholes to your municipality. In Cape Town, depending on the time of year and the importance of the road or street, it gets fixed between 2 days and 2 weeks after reporting it. 

There is currently a bug: Once in a while I get a push notification but when I tap on it, there's no alert – just this app's usual home screen (my iPhone is set to not display the content of push notifications, so I have to tap on it for the applicable app to show me what it wants to notify me of).

The MySmartCity app is backed by a service team that manages your calls with your city to make sure the services are restored / repairs done before the city closes the call. Excellent app that is super convenient to use on the fly.

Tried to create a report for Imam Haron Road Claremont and it tells me I cannot create a report for this address as it is not within its map which is really ridiculous, but it works for area 2min away from Belvedere Road and up. This is one of the most useful apps in existence. If you're lucky enough to live in Cape Town, the municipality usually fixes potholes within 2 weeks. Unfortunately the app has some issues. One in three times I open it, it freezes. The icon for reporting potholes etc. doesn't exist - you have to click on the text. And lastly, sometimes the map is very inaccurate. The worst being this morning when it logged the coordinates as many blocks away from the actual fault. Another irritation is that after writing long notes to correct the coordinates, I discovered that the notes never got saved. Let's hope the developers improve the app.

App does not pick up my correct address. I logged a complaint for a municipal water cover missing and water cog broken in September 2022. To date I have not heard for the water department and the two problems have not been resolved.

There is still many technical issues to be sorted, issues take long to report and often fails. But the team responds well and it looks like the issues are reported at the metro. So its a work in progress. But well done to the team so far.
