I have owned or subscribed to Navionics for years, and my latest subscription expired on August 5, 2024. I received several emails reminding me to renew my subscription, however, nothing seemed to work to renew, and always ended up at the Garmin ‘Black screen of death’, where none of the links worked at all. I assumed that I couldn’t resubscribe until the existing subscription had expired. Today I made another attempt to resubscribe (we are on vacation aboard the boat) but again, no success. I finally purchased a completely new subscription, and paid $79.99 plus taxes, but I still have no means of updating my software, as it tells me that Navionics is already installed, and simply opens up my expired software, without any of the features that are only available with a subscription. I am 24 hours away from calling my credit card company to reverse payment, as no goods or services have been supplied, but I SIMPLY WANT TO RESUBSCRIBE AND UPDATE MY SOFTWARE. Please Garmin, help me to end this nightmare.

Navionics was a great app. After Garmin acquired it they’ve raised the price by 170%, meanwhile the app is now buggier, and it often doesn’t track your location and has consistently shown me many miles away from actually location. I’ve decided to go for cheaper apps on the App Store that does what navionics do, and many times better and more accurate.

I used to love Navionics. I just purchased the new app for my iPad and my location accuracy is off by 150m or more. Cannot get an answer from the help address to tell me how to set my location or calibrate my iPad (yes its has CPS and I used the old app on my very old iPad for years). Did I get ripped off? is this a scam? How can I set my location accurately?

I paid for navionics years ago. The little “download” again cloud came up. I paid for it now it’s owned by garmin and I have to pay again ?? Nope

I first started using this app when in 2012 to learn the lake I spend time at each summer. It was $14.99. It’s jumped over the years, and was $30 two years ago. Now a subscription is $80 a year. There is no option to pay less for a smaller area or to access it for a shorter time. I appreciate the convenience, and have years of routes tracked and favourite places saved. But I can’t pay $80 to use an app a week or maybe 2 a year. If I was a serious boater, it’d be worth it. But for my 25x40 mile corner of the world that I visit a couple weeks a year, I’ll be taking my chances with a paper map from now on.

this is a brilliant planning tool but poor when it comes to navigation. difference between charted objects and actual location may be greater than 50m. tracking and course predictor lead line are flakey and do not function reliably. i have been using this app for a long time now and will not continue my subscription. if the program just did what it was supposed to i'd give it 5 stars and have it at any price. it doesn't, i won't, and i won't. done.

I recently used to pay $29 per year for this app and now it’s $80 plus tax! I don’t even have a boat! I get it’s a great app but you’re losing the casual user who fishes a couple times a year and shows his buddy where to fish or to look for new hotspots. I’m not renewing until the price comes down.

If you have a yacht and like expensive apps, this one is for you. No longer the preferred app for recreational fishing. $80 too much, not to mention I can no longer access the maps I had downloaded and used for years. I’d pay $40-$50 for this, but $80 is excessive.

Not happy as I went or renew and the price is now $79.99. I always paid $29.99. This is a joke I hope. I only use it on my cell phone. Not happy at all.
