SECURITY:
Your credentials and data are secured and never leave your devices - AES encryption. For additional protection, the bluetooth communication channel is internally encrypted.
REQUIREMENTS:
Near Lock requires a Mac that is running Mavericks or later. Your Mac also needs to support the latest Bluetooth LE technology.
The following Macs support Bluetooth LE:
• iMac late 2012 or newer
• MacBook Air 2011 or newer
• MacBook Pro 2012 or newer
• Mac mini 2011 or newer
• Mac Pro late 2013 or newer

Does not work with latest iOS MacOS
Developer seems to have abandoned the app. Don’t buy as if it doesn’t work on your setup you won’t get a response nor a refund. Tried contacting the dev multiple times to no avail.
Device list not updated and buggy. Uninstalled!
Tried to make it work but it would not with my non-M1 chip MBP. The app store on the MBP had a warning it was incompatible with the macOS app but the description on the iphone app does say it can work with 2012 mac book pro or later. I have a MBP late 2015 running Monterrey. Ultimately, the app will lock the computer remotely using the app but will not do it automatically based on proximity which is what it seemed this app could do and the reason to download it in the first place. I already use my watch to unlock. It won’t let me download the pro version on the iphone or the mac or allow to use it on the watch. On the watch, it states that the iphone app needs to be turned on or buy the PRO. Unfortunately, it won’t let me buy the pro and the watch app is not able to register when the iphone app is actually open. great concept but execution needs work.
Not fully functional.
Proximity doesn’t work.
I use it daily
This app works 95% of the time, when it stop working you need to restart the app or turn off/on Bluetooth. I also always leave the app open. Don’t understand why the developer has not updated this app in years. The small issues could be fixed easily with some updates.
Worthless
Followed all the instructions and bought to pro to get features and it hasn’t worked yet. Even worse my max screen saver just prompts for a password. Don’t waste your money on this.
Surprisingly useless
Hasn’t updated in three years yet it requires an M1 chip that came out in Nov of 2020. Do that math! Developer unresponsive. Certainly glad I didn’t pay for the premium first. Maybe it would be a good idea for Apple to yank apps that aren’t updated in a timely manner. Shame I wasted time with this.
Doesn’t work
Moving out of range doesn’t lock my Mac. When it’s locked, moving into range doesn’t unlock. The mist basic setup with defaults simply doesn’t work.
App doesn’t work at all
This app looks like it checks all the boxes and has great functionality that I was looking for however…. None of it works… I tried many times to get it to work but it never did…. The only thing that actually worked was the button in the app would work to lock or unlock my Mac but the proximity features just wouldn’t work at all. I also tried to get a refund because I bought the pro version and the company didn’t refund the purchase. I would not recommend this app.
Don’t waste money
Developer hasn’t updated the app in years. Doesn’t work on modern operating systems.
