I gave my daughter the iPhone as a surprise and went back to a XS Max as I loved the display. However I missed the nightmode. Having tried 2 other apps I took the plunge and spent the £5. It’s simply superb. Hold the iPhone still and tell the subject to stay still and the results are great. If you are worried about spending the £5 and it’s a waste. Don’t be. It may not be an iPhone 11 beater but it’s massively better than the standard camera. Works fine on XS Mac on ios 15.1. I took a photo of my garden with my iPhone X in low light and compared it to the standard. Very little difference. In fact I get pretty much exactly the same effect by choosing the vivid effect in the ios photo app and then turning uo the brightness. Tried all the exposure and tripod settings. All made little difference. At no point do I see the type of differences shown in their examples on the app store. You don’t get more of the image exposed, just a warmer brighter version of what you normally get.
