When the app is working it is rather poor, constantly have to re download additions. It’s not easy to navigate and if you are offline (with a downloaded addition) no images are there. No auto download of new additions, no jumping back in where you left off. But the worse is constantly being told to subscribe. I am!
Titles all feel like they are geared toward the sensational/dramatic side of news instead of focusing on factual science. I was charged even though I cancelled during free trial.
Unlike many other apps, you cannot make the print larger. This is an enormous shortcoming. Their demographic may just include older people with scientific interests. The app should be more accessible.
I love science, but the major scientific journals are often take a fascinating subject and make it rather dry. The writers at New Scientist take that information the scientists publish and bring it into the real world, giving us science buffs a good read without having to be in scholar mode.
I’ve subscribed to several over the years and I still read a few online. But this is the one I want to have in my hands to read whenever and wherever I am.

Reading New Scientist has caused me to change my behavior to stay safer, healthier and to do more personally to help the environment. The Covid information was invaluable, such as learning early on that it spreads in aerosols rather than just droplets. You learn things that almost no one else knows about.
