NSM is so interesting and informative it should be a mandatory publication in all Science Departments in High Schools, world wide, so all pupils can keep up to date with the amazing variety of topics it covers. 
It is great value for the money. I cannot expound it’s merits enough. I really enjoy trolling through the wealth of interesting article on all the various topics. Keep up the great work.

### ***-- "App doesn’t know subscription renewed"
first New Scientist is good, not great, and is starting to suffer from poor writing/journalism, articles I have found elsewhere for free and news bites.  Then my subscription renewed ($240) but the app doesn’t know.  Despite, repeated logouts and in, and reinstalling the app.  So now I have the palaver of trying to contact support, located in a different country, in a different time zone.

The app is mostly good however it has a few major problems I am surprised went through QA.  Could you please fix!!!
1. When you open the app back up it does not return you to what you were last reading meaning you need to navigate back to the issue you were reading which is time consuming and also difficult 
2. When you click on a link in an article it should take you to the article in the app so you can read the full article. What actually happens is it opens an in-app browser which shows you the article unauthenticated so that you can’t read it! 
3. Even with a subscription they have started to show ads. These often block the content.

I am a long time reader of the magazine and have been using the app regularly to get my dose of science. Since one of the latest updates and the introduction of google ads at the base of each page it has been difficult to read the end of an article. I understand the need to subsidise content by permitting advertising but I am tempted to go back to print just to avoid this.

NS is great so this is just a review of the app which is rough but not unusable. The good bit is the way you see all the magazines and download each one. The rough bits are: 
- The articles are all available through categorised lists and so you need to switch lists to see all the articles. 
- The fonts are shabby.
- The images are just images don’t take you to articles.

Paid for Print+Web+App subscription and despite having confirmation of my new subscription type, can't access the articles.  Email given for support bounces back and the 'helpline' completely the opposite of helpful.  I've subscribed for years to New Scientist but this plus missed deliveries has annoyed me so much I think I have had enough.  Subscriber number is 15212001 if anyone at NewSci reads these and wants to help.

New Scientist has been an authorative magazine for almost as long as I can remember. 
The iPad app is easy to follow and the links to other articles are extremely helpful if one wishes to follow up particular items in depth.
For those who like to know what's going on in the world of science this new addition to the New Scientist stable will be invaluable.

Note: check the date in this review as the designers may have fixed the issue.
The app is nearly as good as the one New Scientist used before but there are two frustrating features.

1) on the other app I could forward an entire article to my email to read on another device. This app however only sends the link to the NS website, meaning a logging in procedure again. I guess this maybe for copyright reasons, (but it would be nice to send a full article to a friend who I feel needs to be corrected on an issue)

2) when scrolling down an article if your finger or thumb strays off an almost vertical movement then the software thinks its a command to swipe horizontal and take you to the next article. This is extremely frustrating, especially if you have scrolled down a long article to find and read a paragraph and suddenly 'oops' the next article appears (just from a slightly left or right vertical finger swipe) and you have to go through the entire procedure again. I did it 3 times in a row. So if the designers could make the software less sensitive to jumping to another article when scrolling that would make this App nearly perfect.

Note: I'll remove these comments after I see an update improvement on the app
