The NHS Wales App will allow people living in Wales to access health, care and wellbeing services, proactively managing every aspect of their health safely and securely.  You can use the App in Welsh and English to order your repeat medicines, book appointments at your GP practice and view your health record. 

Note: Please note that the ability to book appointments and order medicines via the NHS Wales App depends on this functionality being made available by your GP practice.

Why release this when it’s obviously not completed. Attempted and failed for 40 mins to set up. How on earth is an elderly person going to navigate this. I’ve seen all the developer responses saying to fill in the feedback so please don’t respond to this. I did actually try and send feedback but it timed out so  gave up.

I was expecting to find a record of past vaccinations, bowel & breast screening results etc but nothing!! Only past and current prescriptions!!

### **--- "Only as good as your GP practice"
All I can do with this app is order prescriptions and see my previous medications and vaccines. I’m sure it could do much more but there is little incentive for GP surgeries in Wales to make full use of it. I’m sure if their remuneration package was linked to using all of its features things would improve overnight!

My English friends seem to be able to do pretty much everything on their equivalent app. They can book appointments, see test results receive appointment correspondence etc. I’m not quite sure Wales is still living in the dark ages yet again. 

I think the developers have done a reasonably good job with this app. It’s how it’s being used by the NHS that’s the problem.

### *---- "Misleading claims on functionality"
You may be encouraged to download this app by reading the marketing material provided at GP surgeries or online. None of that material tells you that most functionality is decided by GP practices so is absent and the central Welsh NHS provides almost nothing in the way of uses. Not sure what use case was the basis for the creation of the app but it is almost completely useless. If you are downloading it to do something then don’t get your hopes up.

The app is capable of handling repeat prescriptions,making appointments,showing you your medical records and test results and registering as a blood and body parts donor.In my surgery the only services I can access are prescriptions and giving my blood and organs.This is because my GPs have opted out of doing the other things because it is too much trouble. Nevertheless the Welsh Government pay them handsomely for having the app and encouraging their patients to use it.As for the patients who are not on line - who cares about them?

Just the worst app, it's like it was developed without a developer. I assume it's ben created to make things more efficient but sooo bad will result in the opposite. Why not cut/paste the English version which has been around for  while and works!?

UPDATE: and here we are again back at this disgrace of an app in OCTOBER 2024

Still no change with the new update to those of us that can’t use it. I now have an added issue to the one listed below as in, I no longer have the email address registered. I can’t register a new mail address so I’m stuck in the 10th circle of hell with an app I can no longer use and being trapped in chronic pain and no way of getting my prescriptions into my GP surgery for repeat as they won’t take them over the phone. You should be ashamed but I doubt it

I have used MHOL for 20 years, you would think they would be able to migrate your login details to the new system but NO, they want photo ID & a video confirming it’s ME. Absolutely not. The NHS cannot even get appointments sent out on time, if at all and loose notes frequently, why would I give more personal information to their APP than they deserve. I’m absolutely furious, I am ill cannot access my surgery online for repeat meds, or test results and have absolutely no way of contacting anyone for any IT support. Their HELP section stinks & sends you around the 10th circle of Hell. Should feel ashamed to leave patients like this. UPDATE;( WE ARE NOW IN AUGUST & STILL, THERE HAS BEEN NO FURTHER UPDATE FOR THOSE OF US THAT HAVE HAD NO MIGRATION OF OUR DETAILS FROM THE OLD MHOL SITE. YOU WANT OUR PICTURE ID, WHEN YOU CAN’T EVEN COMPETENTLY MIGRATE AN IT SYSTEM FOR ALL USERS, EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE FULL LOGIN DETAILS & NHS ID & THEN EXPECT US TO TRUST YOU WITH OUR SENSITIVE DATA. NOT IN A MONTH OF SUNDAYS. WRITTEN IN CAPS LOCK BECAUSE I HAVE TO LEAVE ONE STAR & DEVELOPERS CLEARLY DO NOT TAKE ANY NOTICE OF REVIEWS & JUST THROW OUT A CHEAP APP TO APPEASE THEIR CUSTOMERS NOT BOTHER TO GIVE A DECENT APP USER EXPERIENCE

It disallows me from making appointments at my surgery, nor can I arrange repeat prescriptions.  It won’t display my ‘health timeline’ which it states I should be able to see.
I simply don’t see any point in this.
