Noir is a Safari extension that automatically adds a dark mode to every website you visit.
It makes browsing the web at night so much better. With Noir, you won’t be blinded by bright websites ever again.
And the results look great too. Noir generates a custom dark style for each website you visit, based on the colors that are used on a page. You won’t even notice this happening in the background – that’s how fast it is – but you’ll certainly appreciate the end result: a beautiful dark mode tailored for each website, where contrast is preserved and highlights still pop. And with over 20 built-in themes and the ability to create your own, you can customize the results exactly the way you want.
Noir works with any website you visit in Safari, automatically. By default, Noir is linked to your device’s Dark Mode, so websites will only go dark when you want them to. But you can easily customize this to your liking, even per website. Only want to use Noir on just a few specific websites? Sure thing! Disable Noir on some websites? No problem!
Built from the ground up for iOS and iPadOS, the app feels right at home on your device. It supports the brand new Safari web extension feature, which means there’s no need to manually activate it every time you load a new page. The app also tightly integrates with system features such as Shortcuts, Control Center, Focus Filters, and Widgets to fully integrate Noir in all your workflows. And your settings are automatically synced to all your devices using iCloud.
And just as importantly, Noir takes your privacy seriously: it doesn’t collect any of your browsing data. Period.
Noir is made by an indie iOS developer. It does not include any subscriptions or ads. Buy Noir once, use it forever.
Notes:
• Found a website where Noir’s dark mode doesn’t look just right? Let me know by reporting it. The app will be frequently updated to address issues that are reported.
Privacy Policy:
• The Noir extension requires access to the websites you visit to analyze the existing style of the page and to override it with Noir's dark style.
• Noir never collects your browsing data. The only data Noir ‘collects’ are your settings, and those will never leave your device or iCloud account.

FYI, if Safari is crashing on you constantly, Noir is why
I’ve been a Noir user for a long time. Sadly, this weird issue has never been corrected.
It doesn’t seem to affect everyone, but there are numerous others who’ve experienced this, too - noir somehow makes pages glitch and glitch and glitch until the site simply breaks.
It’s literally been months of this, and until whatever causes this is fixed, I’m done.
Does exactly what it says
It’s simple but so functional. Now I can read in the bed while my wife sleeps and not disturb her with the bright websites backgrounds. 🤌🏼
Freezes website
On ios 18 and it freezes websites
As advertised
Like the title suggests, this app works perfectly and as advertised.
The UI is beautiful, noob friendly and loaded with interactive features, unlike most extensions.
Essentially
Honestly this has changed the iPhone experience for me. Been using it for years now and it’s so seamless 99% of the time I don’t even notice that it’s working so well. At night it makes everything so enjoyable to view so it’s not crazy bright when you’re winding down for the evening. Well worth it.
Really love the app overall, and appreciate the dev/support teams responsiveness
It's worked perfectly for me, and has been incredibly helpful for my eyes and overall comfort when using the phone.
Reading through other reviews; I really like that the app team people/person will actively reach out to establish contact with them in email so that they can work out what is going wrong for the app on their device.
It can be hard for people (including myself sometimes) to figure out whether the issue is coming from my end, or is an issue/bug with the app. Them offering to help fix the problem from people leaving very negative reviews is great customer service practices that I can appreciate.
Thanks for making this awesome little safari extension! Tons and tons of people's eyeballs are in debt to this app lol
Great app
If you care. You get this app
💯
Thank you so much for your time and effort. Love this app!
Great, Sometimes
When Noir works, it works phenomenally and certainly saves my eyes from strain. However, fairly frequently I will visit websites on Safari that will reload several times and then completely halt with the “a problem repeatedly occured.” Fandom.com is one website I visits all the time, but it suffers from this issue, which can be frustrating
Best purchase I’ve ever made
It’s unfortunate that this isn’t an integrated feature within Safari in the first place. But this app solves that problem and I don’t know how I lived so long without it.
