Notes is the best place to jot down quick thoughts or to save longer notes filled with checklists, images, web links, scanned documents, handwritten notes or sketches. And with iCloud, it’s easy to keep all your devices in sync, so you’ll always have your notes with you.

Features

Powerful note-taking
• Add attachments — PDFs, photos, maps, web links and more. 
• Record and transcribe audio directly into a note.
• Scan paper documents with the built-in document scanner.
• Secure sensitive or personal data in a locked note.
• Create checklists. Make a shopping list, a wish list or a to-do list, then tap to tick off items as you go.
• Apply different text styles, such as heading or body, bulleted lists, highlighting and more.
• Tap next to section headers to reveal a chevron to collapse text.
• Add tables to quickly organise information.
• Use your finger, or Apple Pencil on a compatible iPad, to sketch directly in your note or an inline PDF. Choose from a variety of brush styles and colours, and add lines and grids to a note for easier writing and drawing.
• Take a Quick Note without opening the app — add Quick Note to your Control Centre, swipe up from the bottom-right corner with an Apple Pencil on iPad, or use Fn-Q on a keyboard.

Organise and search
• Search for text in notes, your handwriting, and even inside scanned documents and photos like receipts or bills.
• Link from one note to another to connect ideas, content or any information. Try typing >> for a shortcut to add links while writing in your note. 
• Keep your notes in folders and subfolders, or add tags to categorise them. Type or handwrite tags directly in your note — like #cooking or #expenses. 
• Automatically organise notes in a Smart Folder based on filters. Create rules to filter for Date Created, Checklists, Attachments and more. 
 
Collaborate 
• Collaborate on entire shared folders or on specific shared notes.
• Mention friends to notify them of important updates and link them directly to a shared note. 
• See what others added to a shared note while you were away with Activity view, a day-to-day list summary of activity from each collaborator. 

Notes for Apple Watch
• View all of your iCloud notes right from your wrist; you can also pin notes, complete checklist items, or create new notes with dictation or Siri.

Suddenly all my notes disappeared. It seems that they are autodeleted. I had stored them only on my phone. I dont pay extra iCloud. I will not pay it. Because i payed for the phone and its notes app. Extremely disappointed by this glitch. Never trust these apps. I did not do anything rather than a simple update of my iPhone.. iPhone 13.
I had important staff in this. Now all gone! Please fix it! Or you should at least make it MORE obvious to save all our data elsewhere and that they are NOT safe in apple devices....

Suddenly today, out of the blue was checking my notes ofcourse to enter some passwords on my pc and realize that I have zero notes and the phone tells me to update the up-to date app. Can someone fix this before I lose my mind I am also paying for cloud service

I have a 14 pro max 256gb.
I've been using Notes for many years.
Since i updated to ios17, i'm facing severe issues.
The app crashes - quits automatically.
It consumes a heavy amount of data each time i open it.
The phone heats up a lot.
I'm using it to scan documents. Before the update a 20 pages document was around 5mb. Now it is around 400-500mb!!

Please fix it asap.

Το μόνο που θα πρόσθετα   στην εφαρμογή αυτή είναι ενα μπακγκραουντ μαυροπίνακα ή πράσινοπίνακα με κιμωλίες διαφόρων χρωμάτων. Να προβάλεις στον προτζέκτορα αυτά που γράφεις στα παιδια και να είναι σαν να γράφεις σε πίνακα.

Be careful and back up all notes in to a safe place....all of my notes randomly just vanished from iphone and icloud... Without me doing nothing...not downloading any new app..not changing any settings on iphone or icloud and not updating iPhone.I spoke with apple support but my notes unfortunately still couldn't be retrieved.
Apparently it's a bug that has affected lot's of apple users and it's only focus is the notes app and all of it's contents.
