This app seems like a news app that forgot it’s an audio app. Why is everything huge except the tiny “play/pause” icon. There is no easy way to rewind/fast forward unless you add to queue and toggle back and forth. Why are there massive photos next to audio content? NYT wanted to make some money off of its audio content which I think is smart but it seems to have confused that with reinventing a very functional platform that already exists. However, this app doesn’t behave like a podcast player. I want to listen to the new series on Keiko the whale. This American Life says it’s the latest offering from Serial. Um, no. Serial’s latest season is something else entirely. So, in the Discover tab, I search for Keiko (nothing), whale (many whale shows, no Keiko), etc. Is search that bad or…? Next, I try going to My Audio, where the helpful prompt says I can “Build my queue.” Cool. How? There is no + to add new items, no search, can’t click through the helpful text. Literally nothing that lets me build a queue. No idea how this friggin app is supposed to work. Can’t find anything about USING it online, just blather about downloading it (thanks, that works just like every other iPhone app). Guess I’ll give up on this piece of junk and wait until it’s released to Overcast (a fantastic podcast app!! I get the newspaper c weekend deliverer, but print keeps shrinking and reading with a magnifying glass is not fun. I now do audio or digital reading which can be enlarged on my computer. However the full newspaper seems unavailable if not getting print edition. Friends say that, too. Will you increase digital and audio coverage c as the population ages?
