Okta Verify

I hate this app and the whole concept of it. It is so hard to set up and the add an account from another device is so unnecessarily difficult and non functional. Why does this even exist, why does my canvas require two factor authentication what are they going to do log on and submit my assignment for me?

When it’s set up it’s fine, however trying to transfer your old account onto a new phone is stupidly difficult when it seems like such a simple thing to do. If this was fixed it would be fine

Why can’t I approve the push notification from my watch anymore.

The push notification always fails. It is a convenient feature when it actually works, but it’s highly inconvenient when it doesn’t.

Upper management at our university decided to suddenly force all students to use Okta otherwise we’ll be locked out of any contents and even email. Not sure if Okta paid universities to use this poorly designed app. In any case if you lose or get a new phone and don’t have access to your old device you will not have a way to log in to any of your services unless you get help from admin. Even with previous trusted devices on your browser. Why not just add a push or code on the browser? We have to contact uni admin just to get this sorted. There are many better designed security apps such as google auth so not sure why this app even exists. If you are a company looking for security and authentication PLEASE do not make your employees suffer with this app. Thank you.

Okta do not facilitate registration or creation of an account. This is because of their base assumptions and flawed design. It is not designed to work as a third party It needs to be redesigned to make it fit for purpose.

Second rate, an absolute joke!

Removing the Apple Watch app seems to have been a bad decision, and has caused a great deal of inconvenience. I would recommend finding an authentication app that supports Apple Watch.

Honestly the most frustrating app to set up. Seems to want two screens but it’s impossible to access both for the process

Forced to download this MFA via Link Market Services. Worked ok. Then I had to get a new phone. Tried to login in. Said I can copy from original device or scan a QR code. Neither are available. It’s sending me around in circles. Says I need to activate Okta Fastpass. No idea where that is! It shouldn’t be that hard to activate your app!
