Very slow! It takes forever to transcribe recordings uploaded from a mobile phone. When you cancel your subscription to avoid being re-billed after it expires, they significantly reduce your transcription minutes, even if you’ve already paid for the remaining time. This is completely unfair! I don’t recommend it.
It’s fine for recording. But if you want to edit the transcript the UI is fiddly and and an exercise in frustration to use. I’m giving up using the App and I’ll only use the website to edit transcripts. They have an undo button, but it will only undo 2 steps maybe? So if the app rushes ahead and makes assumptions on what you want to do and merges a bunch of words together, you can’t undo that. It’s too many actions to undo. It’s munted.
I’m really loving this. It’s the most accurate transcription tool that I’ve ever used. I like the summaries, which are very insightful and the action points. The ability to import recorded audio is superb, though there’s a limit of 3 imports on the free version. I’ve used it to record Zoom sessions and it’s just been amazing! I don’t have to stress about taking notes… ever again :) I’ve found the linkage between the recorded sound and the audio very helpful during the editing process.
Does what it says it does but…. Free limits enough to get me to buy the pro version which gives 1200 minutes of transcription per month but you only get 10 file uploads a month. I now have to wait another 17 freaking days to upload another file. I only used 429 minutes this month. I will find alternative solution as I’m not paying for a business plan. Feel ripped off and disappointed.
It works practically flawlessly. But if you read the Eula, Otter trains their tech with your voice recordings. As a creative, this jeopardises the confidentiality of my work. I prefer on-device alternatives which are, admittedly, leagues behind Otter’s transcribing performance, but also offer total privacy. In a perfect world, Apple Intelligence will someday match Otter’s level of live transcription and we can get all the goods, all the privacy and none of the exorbitant subscription fees to boot.
Otter is simple to use, provides accurate transcripts of conversations and meetings. I have a strong accent, but it understands accurately. The meeting summary, action points and picked highlights are amazingly accurate. As a non IT savvy user, the results are amazing

Native Aussie English speaker. Couldn’t transcribe “g’day”, then only got worse. Siri works better.
Transcription not good. ProService not worth the money.
Downloaded and paid for subscription (since cancelled). Tried transcribing a 8 minutes video interview with only two speakers, transcript accuracy very poor.
