Great update
A great app and solid update. The new interface is much cleaner and it works very well once you get used to it. The app is also faster than before.
New update is no good
Loved and used Overcast since the day it was first released. It was rushed for no reason with so many bugs and glitches all over the app. It was seemingly not tested at all before it shipped just so Marco could hit the 10Y deadline he set for himself. Many features were broken, many remain broken weeks later. My episodes never get deleted. The now playing screen is so much worse without gestures to get to chapters or show notes. It might be a much better infrastructure of the app but the app itself got so much worse for the actual user of the app that for the first time in 10 years I’m looking for an alternative podcast app. And to make matters really bad: he removed the option to export OPML to basically prevent you to move to a different app. Sad.
Great podcast app
Yo can cram so many hours of podcasts in one hour with this baby. Slaps hood.
Just what I need
This podcast app does exactly what I need. Yes it requires some getting used to, but after a couple of sessions I got the hang of it. The queue system works well, there is also an option of multiple queues. It works with CarPlay and the playback speed adjust is finally adjustable. The default settings are the ones I use and I love the automatic download of queued shows. I do not need the premium subscription but the price is right so I am happy to support the developer.
Perfect for podcast addicts
Does everything you need elegantly. Injects delightful interaction into an already delightful hobby. The Smart Speed is amazing.

Good but not perfect
I enjoy this app more than the Apple Podcast app but still find it is not 100% user friendly. Some search features could be better
