No access without payment
You can’t do anything with this dictionary without first paying. You can’t even find a translation. Paying 46 eur for a dictionary yearly is a lot in my opinion.

It's a great app to learn new words with a nice and friendly user interface ;)
As others said, this app is well designed, fast, functional and helpful in everyday conquest of learning the meaning of words. I wouldn't have problem paying for it one time fee, it's truly worth 20 bucks (lot of money for an app!), but paying monthly subscription for a dictionary is just nonsensical, late-capitalism greed from their side. Not only Oxford sell overpriced text books, they have to overprice this too... This app isn't even free, their free "word lookups" are extremely unsufficient if you're decyphre-ing let's say a long poem. Fix your greedy hearts LOL...
Excellent dictionary, but recently it bugs a lot. It doesn’t let me finish typing the word I am searching for and instead it returns me to the home page with the word of the day. It can happen several times even within one word search. It’s happening often and it is very frustrating. I am losing time.
It is really great, easy to work with, especially for intermediate and advanced learners of English.
I love a word of the day
I can't give this app more than one star (let alone consider subscribing) because it lacks a basic feature that dictionary apps had as long as 20 years ago: the ability to search for words that appear in example sentences or the full text of the dictionary. The app for the Collins unabridged English dictionary does offer this feature. For some reason, Oxford seems to have decided that users in 2025 only need to be able to search the list of headwords.
Information Based
The Oxford German /English is supposed to play audio for the German word but this feature doesn’t work - or works only once and then stops working. (There is no problem in the settings) This is on iOS 18.1 but has been a problem on all previous iOS versions as well.
Is good but it’s not working off line
