The designers really should help first time players truly understand what's going on before dumping them in such a big first level. Also world and camera design means you can not realise half the world exist. Firstly no map and where you can see is limited so spend endless time trying to find where you are. If you pick something up you can't drop anywhere, find where you are, what you need to do with it and where and go back and get it easily. There are no indications at all on what to do, you are just dropped into the game, hardly any settings apart from zooming in and out which is not very good. It's clever, looks good, and has sucked me right in. No glitches, adverts or silly races against the clock, and, if the solutions are sometimes a bit whacky, that's what sets it apart. If you like Machinarium and its ilk, you'll like this. I bought "After the End" at the same time, and this knocks spots off it. So much easier to move around, and thus more enjoyable. My only beefs are the lack of hints and the fact that you encounter some puzzles before you're ready for them, making it a bit difficult to know where to start. Maybe the next version could take that into account? I can't wait until my next session with it; I'm having to be really disciplined!
