(The original draft was unfortunately deleted.) EA has made several mistakes on Peggle after buying PopCap, even with Peggle 2. The reviews here are awful, and I agree. This game is overloaded with ads, has a soulless energy system, has an elusive amount of micro-transactions, and an overall ghoulish vibe. So, I want EA to read this, reply to me, take action, and revive Peggle Blast. - (Face The Sky, Face The Calamity, And Rise) - First of all, fix the data loss issues, and also add back Ode to Joy because we will go insane without it. Add more levels, because 208 just is too short for a game that is addicting once you’re good. Add challenge type levels too. Peggle 1 challenges are some of the best representations of this. A few more modes and powerups could suffice, or even a pick a path style level system could work. Make this game feel similar to the first few peggle installations in SOME way. PLEASE. Finally, add a competition (aka Duel) system. This would force people to connect to the internet which does mean more ads, but we could just reduce them. I hope EA does look back at my previous review too (PopCap threw ENJOYMENT out of the window.) for some basis. There's a bunch of artificial difficulty with the bombs and gauntlet levels and stuff, all so you can lose lives to make you do microtransactions for more lives and power ups. Not to mention it's infested with ads, it's one of the better popcap games post EA with ads cuz it doesn't break after playing them. There are animations for the game state (power up, last ball, excited, and disappointed) which play all the time over like 200 levels, but it has NO polish. They just snap in between animations and their sounds (🤢) without even finish the current one playing.
