Pimsleur | Language Learning

In itself the app as well made I really enjoy learning language while I’m driving around my car for example because it’s audio based. But I don’t really get why it’s called voice recognition in the app when actually all I can do is record my voice and play it back to myself comparing it to the native speaker?? Also, already in lecture too, I get the way to formal form of “how you are doing” and “ hello” in Greek, which isn’t really used anymore at least not as far as my Greek wife and her family know of. I have paid €105 in the black Friday deal for 30 lessons of Greek. Considering what I’ve described above, I would not say that is a great deal.

I can highly recommend the app, you can here there have been smart language teacher given the right direction

It is a cheap way of learning a new language quickly

With Pimsleur, learning languages is faster, easier, and much more fun. I tried other apps before but this is the first one that truly helps. Really great, definitely recommend!

There is no country called Iran on map which I use it as my location? And why there is Persian language there in the app when I can not select my country??? All the apps owners are racist! Fu!

…wenn die kosten nicht wären. Um das Sprachverständnis in langsamer aussprach zu lernen ist die App klasse. Zum lernen und lese von Schriftzeichen (z.B. Japanisch) ist die App nicht geeignet. Und da kommt mein ersten Kritik Punkt. Für das, dass ich nur höre und kein „rundumpaket“ habe sind 20 Euro im Monat oder fast 200 Euro im Jahr zu viel. Vor allem weil ich denke das die wenigsten von uns alle 50+ Sprachen lernen werden die die App bietet. Es sollte kleinere auf Sprache bezogenen Pakete geben. Der zweite Punkt ist das Sprachlich die app nur auf Englisch und Spanisch existiert. Was anfangs bei Sätzen wie „wie heist du?“ und „verstehst du X?“ kein Problem ist aber wenn man nicht fließend in Englisch ist und man erst den Englischen Satz bzw. Erklärung für sich übersetzten muss um den Satz dann auf Japanisch zusagen hängt man immer hinter her.

Pimsleur is a great starting point to learning and getting to know a new language. I highly recommend the app to anyone who’s looking to learn conversation in a foreign language. Do beware that all lessons are in English, so wouldn’t pay for the app if you’re not fluent or confident in understanding (American) English :)

Please add support for the Apple Watch. It would be great to be able to practice a new language while exercising outdoors.

Nach der kostenlosen Probe habe ich einen lebenslangen Zugang gekauft (nicht über die App direkt sondern nach einer Promo Mail für über 100€) aber der Zugang geht bis heute noch nicht. Support auf englisch angeschrieben aber selbst das hatte nichts gebracht.. geht bis heute noch nicht und somit habe ich das Geld zum Fenster rausgeschmissenes..

This language learning app is a game changer for whom would like to develop conversational skills fast! I’ve been looking forward to every daily lesson for a month, and really enjoyed my time learning. I wish that I could have continued with Egyptian Arabic via Pimsleur, unfortunately not all 51 languages are offered in more advanced levels.
