Many places do not list individual items without any tax already included. It would be useful if you could simply enter £0.00 for the tax which would allow costs on the bill to be apportioned properly.

Great app but could really do with some improvements! 
- integrate plates with Splitwise contacts 
- ability to edit tip with custom values and see how this is split
- see how tax is split
- ability to go back to the start without losing data

I do think a non plate/landscape option might be good as well. It would fit nicer with Splitwise as well!

My friends and I enjoy using Plates after lunch but it seems to have been broken by iOS 16. The “people shared this item” button doesn’t work, amongst others.

As others have said, it needs the ability to be able to add a fixed tip eg £10, to split the tip equally or proportionately, to be able to name items, add names to plates (I can name people in the green area, but the plates stay unnamed), add Groups, and to be able to send each friend their share by text/email. Otherwise a useful App.

I always find it frustrating at the end of of dinner with my in-laws when people are trying to pay with a mix of cash and card and can’t do basic mental maths - myself included in the latter. My recommendation would be to download this now, practice and the amaze everyone at the table by how quickly you’ve worked this out.

I wish they would add the feature to choose between whether you want people to proportionately tip or evenly tip - tipping culture is not as distinct in the UK. E.g. you choose on a sliding scale the 8% overall you want to tip, but then it works out 8% of everyone’s meal for them to add, rather than just diving the 8% overall between all diners. I’d love that as an option. 

A suggestion: If people still want to pay with a mixture of methods, they could just round up their contributions to make it easier and count that as extra towards the tip. Or one person paying by card could underpay, then quick online transfer the remaining amount to the person who overpaid by rounding up. Otherwise you’re getting dragged back into the mental maths and coins rattling round again!

Great app but please add the option to customise tip given 12.5% is standard here in the UK and the ability to move plates around / assign names to the plates.

One complaint though, it can’t do 0.5% increments on the tip. 12.5% is a standard tip in some UK restaurants, this means the tip has to be added to the total and split evenly. Otherwise great though, really needed this

This has come in handy! The only thing is I went to a dinner with 11 people and we had to do the bill manually by hand. Allow up to 20 plates align them along the top or something. Optionally colour the plates. Let us use names four plates.then let us use groups. I.e work group contains a set of names. Friends a set of names.

This app is amazing! Choose number of people, add the dishes and assign them to the person or group who ate it, add tip and send the bill by email or just tell them how much they owe.
Some suggestions for the developer: adding dishes names, manually adding tips in the amount rather than percentage and the option of saving.

I was told I really needed this app so I got it.
What a waste! One bill totalling £100, 4 people to split. Simple. £25 each.

### ***** "Works like a charm"
Had been meaning to get an app that deals with sorting out the bill after eating out with friends for a while now, and after doing a bit of searching around I settled on this one. Well, honestly, it made the whole process of splitting the bill a pleasure! And instead of taking about 10 mins (at least) and plenty of discussion / arguments it was all sorted out in 1 to 2 mins with no complaints from anybody. Result!

Takes no time at all to learn and it’s very straightforward to use. Sure, there’s a couple of suggestions for improvement - it would be nice to be able to label each item on the bill (e.g. ‘lasagne’ instead of ‘item 4’), especially when checking larger bills with more people attending and there’s an argument for being able to split items unevenly (“I only had one glass of that wine. You had three glasses!”) but I’m being picky here. The beauty of this app is in its simplicity and its ease of use. At the end of a meal, people just want to sort the bill out quickly and move on. This app lets you do that. Highly recommended.
