Been using Pocket Casts for years across different devices and platforms. Tried other podcast apps but I always come back to this. The experience has always been great - and they keep on improving!

Possible bug?
Some podcast episodes aren't playing as I write this review. But when I tried spotify it totally worked. Is it just me or it's a bug?
Better than...
most — especially the stock app.
Massive improvement over Apple Podcasts and Overcast
The UI is intuitive, modern, and functional. And the addition of voice amplification with adjustable speed increments provides better control over a large spectrum of podcasts from speeding up slow speaking hosts to vice versa. Overcast provides a similar level of functionality but fails to match Pocket Casts UI in overall form and UX. And Apple Podcasts, at least in iOS 13, is still clunky and is unable to sync over iCloud consistently. In addition, it provides extremely limited speed controls and no equalizer options.
New design on IPad
I don’t think the new design really works for iPad. It’s very confusing.
Current version Artwork Issue
I’ve been using this app for many years now... but the most recent update is so disappointing die to the following issues: 1. The album artwork is not loading regardless of the option you choose. 2. Discover tab says I am not connected to the internet even if I am connected to a wifi. 3. Bring back the option to add the downloaded apps to - up next instead of just an auto add option. What’s great on the current release: finally works now with siri shortcuts. Please fix the above issues.
Best podcast app
I’ve been using this for years now and it never failed. Great update
Was great, but... (it's great again! Been great for years)
Update 2017: Totally forgot I had this review up. Pocket Casts has been awesome for the past couple of years. Keep it up! I don't even think about the default Apple podcasts app, this app beats that by a long shot. ---------------------------------------- My old review from 2015: I used to recommend this app a lot. Not anymore. How do you expect people to use an app where the core function doesn't even work right? This app used to work flawlessly. Now, auto-download is plain broken, and it's been this way for months. I've contacted support numerous times and while the responses were quick, the app is still broken. All i got l were empty promises. "We'll look into it" they said. I'd be more forgiving if this was a free app. Or something that I couldn't do with my phone to begin with. But a paid app with this big of an issue, and with so many alternatives in the app store? Despicable. I may change my mind once Shifty Jelly fixes this app. As long as it STAYS fixed, that is. If you're looking for a podcast app besides the Apple one, look elsewhere.
Apple watch support
This is not a premium app as they claim it is, for there's no support for apple watch unlike other FREE apps which offer apple watch support.
