Surpassed only by the hilarious narratives on the updates! :)
This app is the astronomy enthusiasts best mate - easy to use, accurate for future viewing, kidz love it, adultz (including my "real" astronomer mates) want to check it out, and it has been great for locking down any object and when. Updates come through suitably regularly and the price can't be faulted. I can't recommend this highly enough if you are similarly enthused about knowing what's up (excuse the pun),
What an amazing app. The night sky has never been so illuminating than with this app.
brilliant best app i have bought being a part time astromonier it is helpful will buy update if required
I love it thanks! One thing can you add Comet into tonight's sky? Add below or above meteor showers into tonight's sky. And I wondering what the other comet(s) up to? Thanks :-) Amie.
I enjoy this app but noticed that its pointing was always slightly off. The developers claimed to have fixed this in the latest version, but now the pointing is wildly wrong, at least for southern hemisphere viewers. I suspect that the fault lies with the difference between magnetic south and true south. The app lacks the number of objects and volume of information in more expensive offerings, but for beginners it could be a great tool if it pointed accurately. UPDATE: It now appears to be pointing accurately, but I'm unsure why. If it remains consistently right then I'll alter my review. UPDATE 2: If you have an iPad, then install the iPad only version. So far that version is working very well and represents excellent value for money.
Great app… in theory. Couldn't ever get it to calibrate properly. Was always a more than a few degrees out so never matched what I was looking at and th calibration reset thingee is really buggy. Haven't therefore ever been able to use this successfully. How do I get a refund?
Downloaded this app thinking it was the one off the iPad adverts. It's very similar but isn't the afforementioned app. I found Pocket Universe quite intuitive, nicely presented but buggy. I could never get it to actually match the sky view (it was always 10-20° off) and it would regularly crash after just a few minutes use. The actual app used in the iPad advert it Sky Walk. While it's a little less techy, it is a lot more stable (no crashes yet) and looks even better.
Totally amazing. If you ever look up and see the night sky you need this.
