Not bad, but overloaded

Good app for podcasts, however, I had hesitations when I first opened and saw Al Jazeera and other questionable sources being followed by default

But needs more chapters like the lord of the rings the two towers and return of the rings and I love this app

Random bluegrass music?!

I can’t open the app without bluegrass music playing?! Weird app upgrade and makes it completely unusable

I have reported the problem in the last review, the creator replied calling Castbox a game. Clearly the “creators” don’t know what their own app is….

Update is a disaster!

Why is it no longer possible to “batch display” all of the episodes? There’s over 4000 of the show I favour and before the update we could see them in batches of a few hundred, rather than having to scroll through every episode individually! Surely update should improve user experience, jot make it too frustrating to use at all?!? Not happy and will search elsewhere

Really annoying ad noise keeps running in the background

Every time I open the Castbox app there’s a really annoying noise running in the background - drums and music - as if there’s an ad running in the background. it keeps playing during the playback of podcasts that I’ve added to my playlist. The only way I can stop it is to force stop the app but it randomly starts again during playback. It’s REALLY ANNOYING and is making the app basically unusable. :-( (ps tried to raise a ticket in the app and kept getting an error message. Lost the will to live)

Audio from adverts are now playing over the audio of the podcasts

I fully appreciate that the free version needs adverts to support the app. Like others I have noticed the frequency of adverts has increased and the ‘x’ button takes longer to appear and it is sized and placed to almost force you to indicate that you are interested in the app. I understand that this is the way of the world with an advert supported free app. But today the app is playing a constant loop of a video game audio OVER the sound of the audio of the podcast (without the screen being shown to cancel the advert) rendering the app unusable on my iPad. Will monitor for a while and will consider making a note of where I am in my podcast library and moving to another service. Really poor.
