### *---- "TECHNICALLY A SCAM Missing basic tools"
Procreate dreams is great for animation but I would like a straight line tool, shape tool, custom brushes, a fill tool, a lasso/select tool, other basic tools and ALL THE OTHER TOOLS IN NORMAL PROCREATE. I expect “Procreate” Dreams to have all features in normal Procreate as well as better things because this cost $30.00 AUD! When you do add these things I will boost the review to 5 stars.

hello, what i will say is that this app is, in my opinion, quite good. a lot of people rate it badly because they don’t know how to use it. once you get familiar with it it’s quite easy to use. however, there are two major issues i’m finding with the app at the moment.
1, it’s very buggy. the app continually crashes and though it does save my work, which is good and many apps wouldn’t save it, it can get very annoying especially when i’m in the zone. it just interrupts my flow and often keeps crashing several times in a row when i try to reopen the app.
2, the lack of a lasso tool. i understand that some parts of the drawing aspect of the program are still a work in progress, but i would love if there were any updates or information on the state of the new additions to the drawing segment.
overall, still a good app. works better than all the other animation apps i’ve tried and it’s a one-time purchase which i appreciate. many other drawing programs work on a subscription which ends up being quite expensive.

Whenever I use the app I notice sometimes when I’m switching frames I lose my progress on the other frame, which can happen a lot and is pretty annoying.

I wish this app adds guidelines and that thing were you make a rough estimate of a shape and the app makes it into the shape you want, I wish there is the mouse icon that can move that layer individually, it can be very annoying when the only way is to move something in a frame is everything in the frame. And the toggle tool, please the toggle tool it would help so much.

Btw I haven’t looked at any tutorials on how the app works, it’s just stuff I personally find annoying in the app

Other than this stuff it’s a good app, in my opinion

I’ve done a few animations in Procreate Dreams, and love a lot of it BUT:

The lack of a lasso/selection & quick shape tool in the draw tools means I have to do all my drawings in regular Procreate and drag them over

The lack of animation loops can make a category of animation just unfeasible

Movies don’t work as clipping masks (Black & white or alpha movies)

Despite the above complaints, I have to admit it’s amazingly priced for what it does do - but right now think of it as a fun toy.

The roadmap was updated a few months ago, when version 1.1 hits I’ll happily re-evaluate and update my review score.

### **--- "Half a year’s experience"
I had used this program for one of my major subjects for yr 12, I spent $30 AUD on this program and I can proudly say it wasn’t worth it. App is still very buggy and I have no clue if it has been updated since its release. I do not recommend this app, it bugs then lowers the quality of my animation when viewing it. Making it really difficult to animate, I couldn’t make a sketch animation in this app without wanting to throw my iPad at the wall. There is no selection tool, you can only move ALL the layers and not a seperate layer, the colour feature / previously used colours aren’t the exact colour that you would have previously used. You can’t import brushes or even merge layers, huge disappointment and someone who loves using Procreate, I cannot explain how upset I am at this app. I wasn’t even given a tutorial when I first opened the app which sucked. 

Please update this app, give us what an artist NEEDS when it comes to digital animation 🙏🙏🙏

### ***-- "Missing a lot of basic procreate tools"
I’m aware this isn’t made to be a drawing app however not even having a basic lasso tool, a way to make perfectly straight lines or perfect circles can make it frustrating, especially when I want to make slight changes to the drawing I know other animation apps don’t have this but this is a $30 (in my country) app, so I expect some form of at least basic tools, especially when this is targeted towards procreate users!! Another thing is when your adding any form of movement/ Action to your drawings, I think it would be nice to allow you to have it spread across all drawings in the track instead of being stuck in 1 drawing/ frame, it’ll allow for more smoother transitions and all Finally, setting up the background colour is so frustrating, I wanted to make it perfectly white but the colour wheel makes it impossible especially with no colour drop tool so everything is like an off white colour. Other then these frustrations, the app itself is definitely nice, having an easy way to have things slide, blur or scale without having to edit it frame by frame is extremely easy, it just takes a bit of getting used to the layout, the app itself can definitely be improved on and when it does I’ll give it a 5 stars!

So, this app is great, it has easy to learn tools, it’s not over whelming and it has smooth brushes and animation… but, I do have some problems.

WHERE THE HECK ARE SOME BASIC TOOLS!?

yeah so idk if it’s just me, but some tools that are very needed when it comes to my animation experience just arnt their, like, I don’t know if there isn’t a shape tool or not but I just cannot find it anywhere. Same with lasso/select tool. I can’t move around things that I need in a different space, which is kinda annoying, and it’s weird to have to redraw each part of one thing if there multiple that are different. Another one is symmetry/mirror tools. These are good for front facing running and stuff like that.

All in all, it’s a great app, but a little more of a beta feeling that anything. It has a lot and I mean ALOT of potential, but just a few more feature and it would be perfect.

The inability to export to .gif, easily select multiple frames or loop content means that though there is a lot to like, it is for me in many ways less convenient than animating in the base app.

I have so far enjoyed using this app and I will continue to use it (after all, I did pay money for it), but here's what I would need to make my work go a LOT smoother and give this five stars

- A SELECTION TOOL. Like seriously why is this not there?! I need to be able to move a piece of my drawing without completely redrawing it just because it's a bit too small or too far to the left or something 

-Like how I can move the timeline down into the flip book for drawing, I need it the other way around. Please make it so that I'm able to make the timeline take up the full screen. It would make it a lot easier to move around the pieces.

-being able to edit and import brushes

-ALPHA LOCK FOR LAYERS. Another incredibly useful function that is just... Not there for some reason.

-this is less important to me but those tools like Liquify, Noise, and Glitch that Procreate has.

-also less crucial but I want the app to be able to tell me how long I've worked on a project, like how Procreate has it in Canvas Information

There's some more as well but I'll update this later when I remember. If any of these functions exist already, please tell me where to find them.

Procreate dreams is beautiful yet flawed. I came with an animation project I wanted to do as a hobby, plain and simple. I had planned it intricately as this was a passion project, a long term one if you will. Yet upon opening this app I realised it may just be unviable for now, at least in quick succession, as I may have to use procreate dreams with its sister application instead, which seems more viable. I wanted to give an honest review because I understand development is hard, and at the end of the day its probably better to try and contribute to a better app than push it down right? So the pros are simple; the app is efficient to use, as there isn't an overcrowding of everything everywhere all at once, which is something that annoyed me greatly with the likes of clip studio paint. The app is simple to use and makes some simple things a breeze. It has introduced a myriad of features that I think should be more common, such as the dragging of layers around and playback of those actions for example. It just works. I want to love this thing as much as I can because it just feels right. After all the stuff I've been looking for in an animation program, I've found one that does all the stuff I want in one place. Finally. This program nurtures ideas for the money it costs and allows them to fruit a lil more. Despite the name you no longer have to dream about making animations, you can make them now! Yet with this there comes a cost. I feel that it just doesn't work the way you want it to. While I understand we're trying to distinguish from the main program of procreate, dreams lacks things that made procreate so nice. The one main thing I miss is being able to bookmark certain thicknesses and opacities, as it just helps. It would be especially handy in something like animation because you need consistency, otherwise nothing works. Without consistency your animations deviate from their intended look and it comes to be really frustrating. This isn't my only frustration either however. This probably has been said a million times but being able to merge layers, use the lasso tool, as well as in general just do things a normal art program can feels important, and while they can be lived without it just doesn't cut it for any serious long term projects. I understand these things are in development but in the meantime, it would be nice to at least have access to an alternative, maybe even a sort of early access feature to new features that could help with the issues

I was really excited for procreate dreams. When I got it it felt unfinished, unrefined, missing so many features and having a lot of glitches. I got halfway through an animation before I went back to other programs. 
The concept is great. I’d love to see more. But I come back again a few months later it’s unchanged. I’m really disappointed and don’t think it’s worth the cost at all.

This app is amazing, and I’m having fun using it, but the lack of lasso tool is really getting to me. Hopefully this’ll be sorted out soon, but for now, it’s a bit of a pain. Please add this in soon!
