pwSafe 2 offers Dark Mode, Touch ID, Face ID, Safari and apps autofill, iPhone landscape mode, adaptive text, a new design and much more on top of pwSafe 1.

Easy, secure and full featured password management across devices and computers. pwSafe uses iCloud or Dropbox to keep your password databases backed-up and synced between your  iOS devices and computers. It is compatible with open source Password Safe. No in-app purchases are needed for unlimited usage, including iCloud sync (see below).

Now available for the Mac with iCloud Sync -

Updated Review: Developer contacted me and said they’ll continue to provide an option to enable legacy view in future releases. This is important to me because I like to see all available PW entry fields, regardless of whether they’re populated or not. This acts as an instant reminder to me as to which fields are available in the event I decide to create, edit or clone a record. Thank you.

I have loved and used this PW app for years now, but after the new layout mode was inflicted on me with the latest version, I hate it! Even though you can change back to legacy display mode in settings, the app description states that they’ll be doing away with the legacy view mode in the next version being released. I can’t understand why the developer would force users into the new layout, especially when you won’t be able to revert to legacy mode anymore in the future releases. When I open a PW entry, I want to see ALL fields by default, not just what the app decides to show me. Just another great app ruined by developers who just can’t leave well enough alone. I will NOT be updating this app from this point forward.

The upgrade to PWSafe 2 erased all my passwords. I have tried all types of troubleshooting including purchasing more iCloud storage, subscription to dropbox and another subscription for password safe and nothing has helped so now I’m out all of my passwords and $15. Better get it back up to your back up if you want to use this app.

Super strong, time-tested encryption based on the open source Twofish encryption algorithm designed by security expert Bruce Schneier is at the heart of the secure and easy to use pwSafe 2 password manager. PwSafe 2 supports all the features one would expect of a feature rich, often updated iOS password manager and much more. PwSafe allows you to sync your password database between mobile and PC using Dropbox or iCloud Drive but if you don't want to do that, your encrypted database can stay local on your device giving you full manual control over where to backup your encrypted database. I've been using pwSafe on iPhone/iPad along with the open source Password Safe application on Windows for more than ten years now and have never had any issues. pwSafe is also available for Mac from the same developer of the iOS app. If support for Android or Linux platforms is desired, excellent applications compatible with the Password Safe database format are available for those platforms as well. I highly recommended this 5 star app.

This app is in desperate need for fixes. This morning I opened it and my own safe was gone. Fortunately, my wife and I share our safes, and she was able to share my safe back with me. When I contacted them there was a techie response about sync issue that made no sense. For past few months this app also doesn’t automatically fill passwords like it used to. Unfortunately, we use this app to share our passwords with our grown up children. Now they have been using for their own purposes so I feel bad for misdirecting them.

I have been using Password Safe (passwordsafe.org) forever and recommend it to my customers. I came from Blackberry where I used it as well as on other platforms. It is the best way to keep all your passwords in a single highly secure encrypted database that you can move between platforms!!!

I suggest that you use a PC with Password Safe to build your database and install “pw safe2” and copy your database to your phone!!! 

I also use it on my flash drives with Portable Apps as well as the PC version installed on a couple flash drives!!!
