Resideo - Smart Home

After spending a bucketload on a T5 and installing this app I now miss my old thermostat that just worked. This app has very limited functionality, offers zero analytics, has very little benefit or flexibility. Doesn’t track anything important and run time has a 2 day delay. And no way to contact help from the app, just send you to their never ending website.

Not bad

The app works just fine with our new thermostat and heat pump. It is very easy to set up schedules for heating and cooling and to remotely control the thermostat. Here’s a suggestion for the developers for a future version: my system has a “Circulate” mode that operates the fan in a low flow mode to keep the home temperature uniform across all levels. This setting must be turned on and off manually through the app or on the thermostat. I like to keep the fan in Circulate mode when we’re home and in Auto mode when we are away. I would like to be able to schedule the fan mode to switch from Auto to Circulate. One way could be to link it to the Heating and Cooling schedule with an additional “Fan mode” option for each schedule period - Wake, Away, Home and Sleep. This could be in addition to the current settings that may become an override command.

The basic functions work decently enough. However, the geofencing isn’t great with more than one device (phone). That was one of the key features we wanted but it is not reliable unless you remember to log in and out on both devices regularly.

This app will not register the set-up of the thermostat even though I have configured twice and both times the app and thermostat said they were configured. When I go to try the app I get nothing and it wants me to set up a new thermostat. Also, when I try to login with Resideo for assistance, my username/password are in ‘error’, and this after I have already received an verification email asking me to enter the code, I am not receiving a reset email from their online services.
