You need to make sure to clean the stone in question or get false reads , all and all it’s a good app and worth the subscription, you should scan the same stone at least twice in different areas of the stone. Again I like the app but you need to know how to use it or it won’t work properly.

I was skeptical about how accurate stone identifying app could be but I have been pleasantly surprised! It's rare a stone is not identified correctly and even so, you can manually change the selection. It's been very helpful to keep track of my extensive collection. My one gripe is there are many newer stone finds that are not in the system yet, or when there is more than one in a single specimen, it will not identify as a single specimen- ie. Sunstone Moonstone. All in all I LOVE this app enough to pay the yearly upgrade!

It’s not trustworthy I tried it with authentic stone and did it several times but getting different results so I don’t trust it.

Thought my finger was a red jasper…..

I like the app but it don’t give any kind of definition as to different colors and it seems to call everything quarts when I know it’s not.

I have been a rock collector for over 60 years with next to no knowledge of what they are, I just connected with various stones. Rock Identifier has been a valuable resource in identifying my vast collection. Very informative.

This app is a great app, but what I’m really mad about is that you have to subscribe to get unlimited pictures that is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in the world and if you want unlimited pictures, you have to pay $30 dollars. I recommend getting this app though it’s pretty annoying, but it will get through five pictures then it would be good.
