## Rugby Watch Description
WhosTheRef's Rugby Ref Watch allows referees to manage the time, whether it's game time or conversion timers; the score and even yellow cards.

Time is simplified to an on and off button as you would have with your manual watch. Timing features are also found when waiting for a conversion, after adding a try to the score you are presented with a stopwatch counting up to the 90 seconds allowed!

Score is really easy to manage, with a Try button, that automatically times and gives you a yes or no screen for the conversion. Penalty Kicks and Drop Goals are also easy to add through one button press.

Yellow Cards become even easier to manage with Rugby Ref Watch. Simply add a card, enter the number and you'll be presented with a live countdown of how long is left, as well as vibrations through the watch when the timer is up!

Whether you simply want to keep time in the game, or manage the whole fixture from your wrist, Rugby Ref Watch is perfect for any referee.

This app is so much better than having to get your pad out your pocket and mark down the score etc.

The only things I think I’d would improve is the ability to change the time for how long the half is, between 30/35mins (for junior/colts games) and 40mins for adult games. Also I’ve found that when I’ve gone to look at the time it’s gone back to my clock and I’ve had to re-open the rugby watch, instead of staying open all the time? The time and score is right. But a bit annoying having to double click my watch crown and select the app again. Other than that, superb app!

Easy to use and helps with a lot of the time keeping needed during games. 

Only just started using but it would be useful to have a reminder when the card timer ends. 

Helps to manage the game and like the team colour customisation to keep things simple.

Can’t trust it alone. It’s easy to use and can record a lot of data, sadly it has a habit of crashing and it just resets and all data is lost.

Used the app in game for the first time today thought it worked well and it helps you manage a game a lot easier. 
However I feel that a supporting app on your phone that syncs all info would be a fantastic additional tool. 
When you are reviewing the details of the game it really hard to read the info on a iWatch screen.

I have loved using this app as a referee, very user friendly and dependable BUT today, for the first time, I was using the app, finished the game and it has LOST the game in the history. Therefore no try times or card times and it means having to revert back to pen and paper in case this happens again. So, great app, but if it loses the data of a game in its history, not good at all if you are relying on it solely.

### ***** "Solution to app disappearing"
I recently had a problem with the Rugby watch app and the resolution in case anyone else has this problem.  This has occurred twice after updates.  

Problem:  

The App disappeared after I updated the watch (Apple Ultra 1).  
It was not visible on my phones’ purchased apps
It was recorded as purchased on the App store.   Therefore I could not download it as it was recorded as already downloaded ‘on the phone and watch’ 

My solutions that did not work:

Resetting both watch and phone and reconnecting them did not download the app to my watch. What a PITA! 
Apple support.  They could see the app but just advised reseting the phone and watch. 

The solution that did work.

On the watch.  Pressing the crown and asking Siri ’to open the Rugby watch app’. 
The watch app is then opened in a option bar that gives you the option to download it
Download and then it is back on the watch.  (All original settings are lost)

The RW App also causes extreme battery drain unless it is deleted and reloaded so I have deliberately removed it then reloaded it after Apple updates.

When you pause the time it’s a bit hit or miss if the watch will vibrate after 60secs.

Also if you mark a yellow card in second half it can be a random time to count down. 

Would also like to see penalty times in the history of the game.

Great tool, been using for a little while now and it’s a great step forward in officiating management, saves having to carry scorecards and pencils.

The only thing I’d add is when using the YC function, is to sound or vibrate when it ends so you know exactly when the time ends. A couple of times now it’s over-ran for me which can be a negative. 

But other than that, a quality tool.

Did my first game today using this app. I like it a lot. I have 4 yellows in the game and had the penalty count visible. 

To get 5 stars, I would like to see an update to show when the penalties were given in the timeline post game history. This would be useful to see trends and if a penalty escalation process was followed correctly.

Update:

New update is fantastic. Only thing I would like to see added now is a match review/ history so you could look back on score time and card times. 

Amazing job. I’m so impressed with the update. 

Great app. Suggestions for making it even better. Vibration when time reaches half time and end of yellow card periods. Adjusting the length of halves. Great job guys. Keeping it simple. Couple more things and it will be perfect. Update: The new update is brilliant. Some great additions. Still would like to see the vibration when time is finished and yellow cards are finished. The new colour choice is great and the descending timer. Lots of choice on half lengths. Keep up the good work.

### ***** "Recent upgrades make this app a no-brainier"
The ‘Rugby Watch’ app has recently been bought by a developer (also owner of the official WhosTheRef app) who have added many new features that move it on from simply recording score and tracking time. I think it is now a perfectly useable

replacement for the card and pencil in both senior and age grade rugby union. 

Compatibility

I recently upgraded my Apple Watch in part so I could use this app which requires the following system software. 

This means the watchOS 8.3 update is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 3 and later.

I had a Series 2 which was already starting to struggle running apps so an upgrade was a good move aside from running the Rugby Watch app e.g. for golf players my new watch allows me to auto-track every shot while using the amazing ‘Golf Shot’ app. 

Settings

The greatest upgrade to the app are the settings which allow users to Taylor the app to the game they are refereeing. Where previously the app was fixed to the senior game the app now allows us to taylor the number (2,3,4) and length (40,35,30,25,20,15,10) of periods

of play and length of Yellow Card periods (unlimited).

Timers

You will find timers in all areas of this app that you would like them. 

Period length are taken care of with the ability to stop the clock whenever accessible from the main screen. 

Penalty Goal and Conversion timers that automatically start when you select either the Penalty goal button or Try button. The timers count up to an unlimited amount but I think an improvement would be to count down from 60 (try) or 90 (conversion) seconds.

The Yellow Card timer starts automatically after you select the player number. This does count down, usefully. I understand that once the timer runs out the watch should vibrate to alert you, which makes sense, especially if you have a number of YCs running in parallel, but unfortunately this feature isn’t working. I can’t think why this is the case as the vibrate function does work to announce the end of periods of play.  Hopefully this is something that the developer will fix soon. 

Saved games

This is a very welcome update that now records all previous matches so you can now safely end the game on the pitch, head to the club house and be able to meet the captains/coaches in the bar, after your well deserved shower. and recall the score, number of tries, goals and conversions. Previously once the game was ended all records disappeared for ever.

I have been trialing this app for who’s the ref in the Beta system and I have to say this is a quality app. 
Time will count up or down on what you prefer, has a 15’s and 7’s function.
Counts down on the yellow cards so no need to time this manually (yellow card length can be changed prior to the game) 
Choose team colours.

AREA FOR DEVELOPMENT:
The only thing I would like to see added is a penalty counter function. So if I award a penalty against 1 team and throughout the game award more, I can check at any point what the number of penalties are against each team, allowing me to actively manage penalties through the game with the assistance of knowing how many I have actually given
