My very first app-store purchase on the very first iPhone in 2007. It was great then, and it is great now, ten years on, modernized and wonderfully expanded. Still easily my favourite app, on what is now my seventh iPhone...

edition removed every archaic 'an' (=if)
editor to be grievously pitied for changing every conjunctive 'an' (= if) into a faulty 'and'. you can not hope to improve on shakespeare by utterly misunderstanding him. From Middle English 'an' Conjunction 'an' (archaic) If, so long as. An it please you, my lord. (archaic) as if; as though. Samuel Taylor Coleridge, The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere (Original Version of 1797) 61-64: At length did cross an Albatross, Thorough the Fog it came; And an it were a Christian Soul, We hail'd it in God's Name.

Excellent app to explore and enjoy Shakespeare!
excellent app
very nice app, smooth working, good search facility, dictionary for the more rare words. Unlike Arden or Penguin book editions does not include interpretation of the more obscure sentences which would lend additional value. Even though a truly fine app for all the lovers of the bard's works.

Update appeared again. Install bug? No longer crashes when it opens on iPad or iPhone.
The perfect Shakespeare companion
When I studied Shakespeare in college, my textbook was the 1900-page Riverside Shakespeare. Now, I can carry Shakespeare in my pocket. This app contains all the plays (and other works), along with scene summaries, character bios, statistics, an integrated glossary, and even inline translations into modern English. (Some features are in-app purchases.) In my opinion, the only thing missing is a library of videos from the Royal Shakespeare Company or Shakespeare’s Globe. 😉
Incredible App and Amazing Service
This is one of the best apps of all time! It does everything well! Additionally, when I had a glitch when going from my iPad to my iPhone, they responded and helped me fix it within a couple of hours…on a Saturday…during a long weekend!! This is truly an outstanding app with tremendous customer support!
