Subscriptions and single issues

Customers can buy single issues and subscriptions using In App Purchase
 
Subscriptions are available on monthly or annual terms.
 
• Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period 
• You will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, for the same duration and at the current subscription rate for that product 
• You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Account Settings after purchase 
• No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period. This does not affect your statutory rights
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription

After my initial review, and several attempts at trying to get my digital subscription number to work correctly with the app, it is finally working hurrah!! 

I think there may have been some kind of bug or issue with my new digital subscription number working, as I tried my original subscription number where paper magazines had been delivered to my door and that seemed to work…then it didn’t, then it did! 

I’ve finally got it to work and I can now see all the Simply Crochet magazines on my iPad and phone, and they have downloaded correctly.

A lesson I have learnt, which is the sensible and I appreciate, the most logical route, is to contact the developer before getting frustrated and asking them for help, I usually have a cool head and logical brain, but the errors and bugs I think just got to me!

I just want people to be aware that this app is very misleading, I have just been charged £54.99 for a years subscription, the offer says that you can subscribe for 2 months for 99p so that’s what I thought I would be charged then in 2 months time you would then be charged the £54.99 in which time if you didn’t like the app you could cancel before the 2 months is up.
WRONG YOU ARE CHARGED £54.99 STRAIGHT AWAY, which I think is wrong and should state that you are paying for a full subscription.
Really angry at how this has been advertised by this company. Would definitely not use again.

I have an iPhone XS Max. Most app developers release an update for their app the day the iOS for the new phone is released, simply crochet (or whoever makes their app) hasn’t bothered to optimise it. So the magazines are squished into the middle of my screen, I think this is poor considering how many subscribers they have. I can’t read any magazines previously downloaded as they just say 0%, I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall to make them work. Since I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it, it’s asking me to pay £5.99 for the latest magazine, which was free before I deleted the app!

I like this app, and haven’t had any problems with it. However, I wish I could access my saved items from the “home page” without having to open an issue first.

A more functional way to save would be helpful. For example the ability to categorise what you’re saving (without creating your own folders) and automatically showing which issue it appears in.

I also have a small niggle about the large ads at the top of the home page to encourage me to subscribe. Pointless when you’re already a subscriber. The space would be better put to use to display more covers, or perhaps your saved items.
