Sleep Cycle - Sleep Tracker

Won’t even let you use the app without buying something! Don’t advertise a FREE sleep tracker app if you have to buy in-app purchases to even use the app 0/10!

Like other scummy apps, they have a “free trial the $50/year” no option to try free version, and you know you’re gonna be charged the $50 regardless

Last night, the Sleep Cycle alarm woke me up because my phone’s battery was low. It seems the creators of this app think measuring sleep is more important than actually getting sleep! This is one of the most ridiculous design choices ever. If the app’s goal is to help improve sleep, it shouldn’t disrupt it with unnecessary alerts. Needs a serious rethink.

As soon as I downloaded it I could not get pass the premium free trial I didn’t want to uses the free trial but I couldn’t get pass that page it was very annoying and thought it would be able to help me get a better sleep plan but it didn’t work.

It’s a good app but it’s always WAY off on my sleep. It’ll literally record me as talking at 3am and yet it shows me as asleep! It’s not of any use to me, I regret this purchase.

I do not recall when I brought this app stating anywhere that I am paying for the one version and any other versions to come I would need to pay a subscription, that’s not how things work. You pay for a app and any updates or changes are part of that initial purchase. I would like this rectified right away please. I changed it to 5 star because I use it everyday and it’s much better than the stupid iPhone wake up tones however I would like to see the original agreement.

I paid for this app outright years ago and now it has a subscription that it continuously badgers me to pay for - within the app, while trying to use it. I find that incredibly annoying. App works great and is useful but I am so annoyed about this

I think apps need to go back to charging monthly. Everyone wants full payment upfront now. If you are exploring a few apps a month you could be spending $200 cash out your disposable income. Too much. This app is very clever. However I sleep with a husband and a Frenchie. So you should consider including pet snoring and movement. Also throat clearing. Cats meowing and movement. It was hard to know if all the movement and sounds were being factored into my sleep stats. So I have not renewed.

I’ve used this app for many years with no complaints. Until recently. The developer has added “insights” in a big box in the middle of the screen and it’s made the app less enjoyable and more annoying to use. The “insights” are limited and repetitive and they just get in the way - I now have to scroll to see the graph on the screen. Please add an option in “settings” to turn them off. Any app that makes the user feel mildly irritated first thing in the morning is going to get deleted from my phone. There’s no way to provide feedback on the app other than through leaving a review here.

I was an OG user of this app when it just launched and became popular and paid for the app when it used to be one-time pay. I changed phones and recently just redownloaded it to find i need to pay subscription? And then i see online that they do allow OG users to restore purchases but I’ve clicked it and its just gets stuck on loading “please wait” and does nothing … Really disappointed
