It’s a fairly easy app to use. I needed a family member to come over when I wasn’t home. I gave them my login info. Assuming they would need to be close to the door for the code to work. That was not the case at all. I learned that once you give out your code (ie to a family member), and they download the app. They’re able to unlock your door, even from miles away. That’s very concerning for hackers. Please fix this issue.

Doesn’t follow the HVAC schedule at all. Constantly have to manually set the temperatures I want it at despite having set a schedule. 

The app also frequently is very slow, or totally disconnected from the lock/HVAC system.

For instance, I haven’t been to my apartment in several days because I’m paying rent but no longer live there—my ex-girlfriend resides there now. However, the activity log consistently shows that I’m accessing the door multiple times per day, which is both inaccurate and unsettling. This raises serious concerns about privacy and potential misuse, as such faulty data could easily be used in harmful or deceptive ways.

Honestly what is the point of allowing Siri Shortcuts if the app constantly logs you out? Every time I ask this app to do something I am logged out and the shortcut doesn’t work. 

Then the app randomly just hangs up and doesn’t complete and I have to relaunch it. 

Honestly easier to type my code into the door, but I use the app so someone can’t see my code. This app only exists in my phone because I have no choice. I would never use their software if I could choose. My wonderful complex chose for me.

This app is by far the most imbecilic waste of time/effort I’ve ever encountered. Forced upon,and hated by,renters everywhere. If it worked properly then it might actually be slightly helpful, but it NEVER works that way. Every task is “taking longer than expected,” which really means “hahaha no heat or safety for you right now!” Frankly, I’m worried that I’ll end up locked out in the cold like so many other poor Smart Rent victims! Stay strong, my fellow renters. Hopefully one day we’ll hold actual keys again.

Run from developments that use this thing. This system is great, in theory. The reality is that it hardly works properly. Thermostat doesn’t connect to WiFi properly so the communication between the thermostat and the system is faulty. It runs allllllllll dayyyyy. 
Has gotten so expensive, I’m either dried out because of the constant heat blasting or freezing cold because I had to turn it off. They email with troubleshooting instructions that work for less than a day. Then the problem persists. When you call you’re connected to someone who barely speaks English and wastes a ton of time with niceties that doesn’t make sense. Not sorry, this is beyond frustrating. Would much rather not WiFi connected locks and thermostat that you can count on vs. this faulty system that failed at convenience.
