SomNote is the best notepad app that over 2+ million users already picked! Along with a beautifully designed user interfaces, it offers high-speed access. Moreover, you can change fonts for free and it allows you to attach pictures or documents on the notes. Notes and attached files can be automatically synced so you can view it on all your devices, including PCs and iPads. * Features

- Taking a note: Take notes and edit with SomNote. You can take pictures and attach it and also put a picture you draw yourself into a note. Wanna read pdf and text files? Just pull it from PC and read it on your mobile device.

- Making a folder: Folder feature is now included in SomNote. Make any folder in any color and name you like - categorize all your notes according to your taste.

- Protecting your secret: SomNote will protect your notes. You can lock your note, folder, and even SomNote itself. Keep your secret diary notes safe from others with ease!

- Finding your note: You can find every note with the Search menu. It will instantly highlight every note and folder simultaneously as you type what you want to find.

* Extra features

- Auto sync: every note and file written and attached in SomNote will be saved automatically after you log-in. SomNote will keep everything you write safely even if you initialize or lose your mobile.

- Theme: Meet special SomNote, picking up themes designed in various ways.

- Font: four beautiful fonts are waiting for you in the setting menu in addition to basic system fonts and more gorgeous fonts are coming. Stay tune with SomNote!

- Sort: you can sort your notes by a date and alphabetical order and we will add more sorting methods steadily.

- Restore: when you activate automatic backup, you can also restore a note at a point of time you want with "time machine" function and also restore even a deleted note from the trash. Try it on SomNote web.

I have used the Som Note free version and loved it so much I paid for the premium. I use it for my work. I like how I can retrieve information from any device by logging into my account. However since I updated my iPhone 6 with 9.0.2 update the app won't back up or let me read any saved work without entering edit mode.  If this isn't rectified soon I will be looking for another app to do the job better.

Update. Som Note is back to its old tricks. Won't backup and keeps going out of writing mode and won't allow me to go back in. Fix please or I'll find another more reliable.

This app was good until a recent update and now I've lost all my notes.

Everything past the first line of the note is now missing and unable to restore an older backup of my notes.

I've been using Somnote for awhile as an alternative to Springpad and Google Keep.

Somnote is nowhere near as good as Springpad was but it is the best alternative I've found in the app store and I have been fairly happy with it so far as I can also have it on my mac and it is all linked.

Its easy to use although not very intuitive as there is always an extra and unnecessary step in the interaction, for example: 
• click edit to edit instead of just taping the page
• hitting save button instead of automatically saving it
• why do you need an edit button cluttering the bottom nav if you can tap+hold for editing?

Sometimes it feels this app was not designed for touch-screen devices.

Also for a note taking app, not having any sort of typing options like Bold, Italic (maybe some colour and font size options if that is not asking too much) is a shot in the foot, seriously.

I wish I could add hyperlinks to words or phrases but that would be asking god to come in person to give me a candy.

The greatest flaw on this app is the monthly / yearly for premium.
As a user who doesn't upload any media content to Somcloud it makes no sense at all to pay a monthly fee.
I'd happily pay a fair amount for a premium app to get rid of those damn annoying ads and maybe one or another extra feature but never commit to a monthly subscription, specially when you have Evernote which will provide a much better service as a note taking app.

I use and pay for Dropbox already and Somnote allows me to link to it which means I already have a cloud service, why would I have to pay for cloud service within a cloud service? Useless.

Anyway, design-wise it is not bad. Love the fact that you can add colours to the folders and have a list option alignment.
It can feel a bit too cluttered because of the ad, the UI could breathe a little bit more if that bottom and top nav bars were not massive but hey, its a solid app.
I guess the ad ruins a good experience and its simplicity - thats what happens when devs get greedy, ignore design principles and prefer a bad looking app over good usability and costumer happiness - thats why Springpad was the best ever-designed note taking application appstore will ever see.
