Free tier no longer useful
Time to find/make an alternative. Daily expense limits makes the free version a pointless trial version.

Fantastic app - have not found better, but it’s too expensive for occasional users. For groups of friends who go on holiday once or twice year, it’s not affordable and the “free” version is way too restrictive. This kind of user is not going to pay monthly, and to get a group of friends to all pay a high once off amount is never going to work. Would much prefer an ad-supported tier, or something. Unfortunately after years of (occasional) use, I’ll be looking for alternatives or going back to Excel.
I love Splitwise! The options of splitting up expenses are vast, and you can also edit transactions if need be.
Used it for a few years and as a student abroad, I love it I live with a few friends and SW(that’s how we call it😄) is our primary tool for splitting bills
So helpful for group expenses!
The perfect app for helping split multiple bills between multiple people.
Great app. Wish we had this in the 80’s. No need to take out calculators now.
I loved splitwise. I take a total of two trips a year and it was an easy and convenient way to keep track of expenses… until the paywall came. I take two trips a year. I’m not paying for a whole app that can easily be replaced by google sheets (I literally just had to switch to sheets). Why not run ads? What is the point of a “4 expenses per day” limit? The paywall made the app completely useless and it was an immediate delete for me and my friend.
…until they started reducing previously freely available functionality in an effort to force users into the paid-for model
I’ve found it pretty handy keeping track of shared expenses with my girlfriend. I personally don’t need the pro version, but wouldn’t be too upset if the devs included a tip jar so I could support a good app without a serious membership thing.
