Star Stacker allows you to import a sequence of star photos taken throughout the night and turn them into star trail images or a time lapse video.
After importing you can create the images and/or a time-lapse video with a few different effects.
- Full trails - every star at full brightness
- Faded trails - Stars get brighter as the process runs
- Shooting star - Like faded trails but the last image is brighter than any previous giving a shooting star effect
- Javelin - Both ends of the trail are faded
- Warp mode - zooms into the image stack slowly creating a warped effect. This will also affect the foreground so post processing may be required if the images have the foreground included.
You can also choose to save a video of the time-lapse based on the options used for the image stacking.
Can import images from your photos app. RAW files that have been recently imported from an SD card reader, may take a few minutes before the full resolution files are available.
There are resolution limits depending on the device being used and the memory it has:
- 6gb - 62mp
- 5gb - 62mp
- 4gb - 62mp
- 3gb - 42mp
- 2gb - 30mp

The best app to create star trails and timelapse
This is the best app I found on the app store to create star trail photos, falling or shooting star effect photos, and even timelapse videos. Also, you can create a star trail photo from the simple stars or milky way timelapse video. It needs to be suitable for astrophotography
The Idea of the app is good but For it to be worth the money and not have things that meet the astrophotographers needs? The app needs manual stacking and editing software for it to be suitable to be used for astrophotography. For both planetary and deep sky objects. If you have read this thank you for listening to my thoughts and comments! I would appreciate it if you could implement this. Thank you!

4 bucks for it not to work
It crashes the minute I start to ask it to stack. I hate paying for things that don’t work
Really cool app
Super easy to use and love the trail options and the option to create a short star trail video. Overall really happy that I got this app. I am using the GoPro 10 to take the night photos.
Just Amazing
I got this app yesterday when I figured out how to do a star trail. I am so happy I got this! I used Night Lapse Photo from my GoPro and it was the easiest thing to do on my iPad. Really enjoyed the photos being stacked and seeing the progression. I am so happy with this app I highly recommend!!

I don’t like paying for apps. I rarely do. Tonight I got this one, and I don’t regret it. Easily stacked 130 images, and result makes me want to get out there and take more pictures. To the creators of this app, thank you!
