The app itself is good and they’ve made efforts to improve things recently - although setting up API access to Binance could be complicated, Stoic have made it very straightforward. The speed of updating has improved too and the introduction of fixed IP addresses means you can “set and forget”. However, the AI trading system doesn’t seem to be particularly clever. In the time I’ve invested, my portfolio has gone down in value, but if I’d have simply bought bitcoin and held it for this time, it would have increased in value. I can understand fluctuations in the market mean portfolios can lose as as well as gain, however it’s disappointing that Stoic’s strategy, that you must pay for, can’t seem to beat “hold bitcoin”. There’s also supposed to be a weekly update on the Inbox tab but this hasn’t been updated since 13th September 2021. I’ll hang on until the year has passed and then make a decision about whether to pay for another year based on the performance. It also only trades once a day meaning it generally misses the chance to sell pumped highs. I found it misses highs and sells assets at the incorrect time. If your are lucky then it will keep you at or below your starting balance. If the market goes up then so does your balance but if it goes down so does your balance. No clever machine learning. I myself can see when a crypto is high and very likely to go down but this app doesn’t do anything to take profits. Just no point in my opinion. If you have any idea of how to trade just stick to it yourself and don’t assume this app will make you money. I’ve had a good experience with their customer service when I first signed up - the portfolio took a few days to sync with Binance but after that it was perfect. Apps a little slow loading stuff sometimes but it’s negligible tbh. I’ve not made money yet but that’s because of the current state of the crypto market. I’ve also not lost loads of money yet either - what I have noticed is that it’s almost like an index fund for crypto, the risk and volatility is taken out a great deal so although it fluctuates with the market still it’s far less than individual coins. I’m using this as a long term play with crypto and am intrigued and excited to see what Stoic will do. $1000 dollars sounds like a lot to start but it’s not when you think about it and how many things it’s spread over - you can try and make loads of money with and for nothing but sometimes things require a little sacrifice! Its definitely a risk, but for me using this is less risky than investing in individual crypto projects - I just saved up for a bit and then decided to use it once I had the funds.
