Endless Substack frustration

Stuck in an endless frustrating loop of “Update to Substack App required” to presenting Substack on App Store to “open” or “update” (I did have it once) - to being given a message that… Ah sorry (my words)… “this App not available in your country or region”. (I unfortunately live in South Africa). Why waste my time with the run-around and why is the Substack not available in all countries and regions?! Ongoing sanctions and censorship coding creates a nightmare for users!

Suspect

It appears that if I refuse to share my contacts one can’t register , I immediately diluted trash.

Can’t sign in

On different occasions and different devices the app makes it insanely slow and difficult to sign into

Substack is an example of what a modern app should be. Subscription via emails should be a thing of the past.

Great content with awful nagging app

So many great authors on substack. Too bad the app developers have chosen to make it a giant tool for annoying email spam notifications OR nag you constantly in the app for notifications. I don’t want my attention stolen and diverted like this - respect that. Stop popping up requesting I turn on notifications. It’s gross and annoying and there’s no way to turn it off. It’s completely antithetical to what they preach as a business.

Substack still freezes when…

When adding a new subscription, this app freezes on iPhone, necessitating offloading and reinstalling every time.
