Wieder so eine App, die es dem Nutzer möglichst mühsam macht, die Option aufzufinden, wo sich ein monatlich kostenpflichtiges Abo wieder abbestellen lässt

App Update renders App obsolete for iOS under vers 16
Great Job rendering the App unusable for readers who do NOT buy a new iPhone every two years and have iOS 15 and not 16. It‘s ironic: Substack is a place offering known and not so known voices a platform. But when it comes to tech, way to go being first to create exclusion.
Notification spam
Too many notifications for content I did not subscribe to.
Email notifications & phone number prompt
Not user friendly, there‘s no option for app notifications only. It requires you to receive email notifications. Also the prompt for the phone number during signup is shady, with wording and the almost not visible skip link.
Satisfied experience
The app is extremly easy to navigate, you don't even need to register to receive your favorite blog posts in your inbox, that's great!! As a writer, it's a pity that you can only read articles and not publish new ones directly from the app, why isn't that made possible?

Great content with awful nagging app
So many great authors on substack. Too bad the app developers have chosen to make it a giant tool for annoying email spam notifications OR nag you constantly in the app for notifications. I don’t want my attention stolen and diverted like this - respect that. Stop popping up requesting I turn on notifications. It’s gross and annoying and there’s no way to turn it off. It’s completely antithetical to what they preach as a business.
Substack still freezes when…
When adding a new subscription, this app freezes on iPhone, necessitating offloading and reinstalling every time.
