This app is so frustrating. I’ve got a PDF receipt I’d like to upload and it’s on my phone. The Tallie iOS app only appears to allow uploading of photos, not PDFs, and if you try to choose an existing photo (like a screenshot of the PDF) all images show up as blank white images.

Tallie is easily the worst expense report service I have had the displeasure of using. They don’t remotely care about improving the user experience either as it’s been bad for years with no signs of improving. 

The app itself is buggy and continually deletes posted receipts. You can’t attach photo receipts majority of the time and the few times it actually works, you still can’t even see what the photo is you are selecting as the screen stays white. Any link to credit cards frequently breaks, resulting in delayed charges. Even manually reporting or updating specific expenses is made a pain by this terrible app.

Worst part is, Tallie likely wont fix anything since their users are mostly people at the mercy of that employer who chose the cheapest and worst possible option. If you’re in a position to make a decision on expense report software for your company, steer clear from Tallie. Use Concur.

This app is not user friendly or intuitive. It could easily be revamped and improved. It will not upload screen shots for receipts. It just spins and spins. The app work flow is not intuitive and disconnected. I avoid submitting receipts altogether just to skip the hassle. It’s more cost-effective to save my time and energy than try to get this app to work. Maybe that’s the point…

I haven’t tried other expense apps. This is the one my company told me to use. It pretends to be user-friendly, but it definitely is NOT. When you upload a photo, it blurs out all the photos, so you can’t see which receipt to choose. It takes a while to register any change you make. When you delete a receipt (because you accidentally chose the wrong one) and upload a different one, you have to completely close out of the app and open it again before you can view or edit that expense. If you have a long receipt or one that doesn’t exactly conform to it’s notions, just save your time and enter everything manually. When reimbursing a week-long trip with lots of restaurants, taxis, and hotels, just expect that it will take you the whole day. I gave it two stars (instead of one) because eventually you can get your expenses submitted and I have hopes that the developers will make it better.

The company I work for chose Tallie when they moved away from a different expense management company. We’ve been using Tallie for 2 to 3 years and I have to admit that I absolutely hate using this app. I dread each month when I’ve got to go through and sync up my credit cards from my statements, as well as adding receipts.it is truly a frustrating experience, and a one star is all I could muster.

We had this for a while to reconcile our credit cards.  What a clunky system.  But what's even better is that we cancelled back in February and they keep charging our credit card every single month and NO ONE will get back to us.  We've called, emailed, etc. They just ignore us. Do not use this app. There are much better alternatives out there.

Loading a picture from library takes forever. I've never seen it successfully upload a picture. The main way I use Tallie is to upload invoices from my photo library, and the app can't do that. The user experience is pretty horrible. I don't understand how an app this bad exists.

It used to work very well, but now, the Tallie App won’t accept photo receipts and erases information as you try and put it in. It is unuseable currently. Please update and fix the bugs since I need to use for work!

This product is absolutely trash. Receipts and expenses disappear, takes forever to scan. Also if you missed a date or a piece of information it doesn’t tell you which receipt. It just says you are missing something. Well I have 50 receipts! Which one? So you have to search each receipt/expense to find it. Overall a garbage app. There is no convenience with this app. It is frustratingly inconvenient. Also, here’s an idea; How about actually using a scan feature and not a snapshot?

The smart scanning feature is horrible! It takes forever, frequently gets the vendor name wrong (especially when using it in other countries - I’ve used it in over a dozen countries). The scan takes forever and if you try to manually enter things such as the amount, currency, vendor name, card, and category it gets changed as it scans. So frustrating!! Using this app is one of the worst parts of my day

I’ve been forced to use this lame app for 2 years, and it simply DOES NOT WORK. Want to spend 45 minutes scanning receipts when it should only take 5? Use Tallie!  At least once per month I spend HOURS scanning receipts because they get lost somewhere between the iphone app and the portal. 

Customer service ….that’s a good one — LOL. 

Do your self a favor and use expensify or something that actually works.
