Tandem: Conversation exchange

Literally just logged me out. Tried to sign back in, makes it a new account. Have to wait to join or pay to skip the line. Is this some type of scam??

This app has recently made me rate it from 4* to 2*, you may be asking why, and the answer is that at first it was really fun and being able to talk to people but now no one talks even if I message them first or something and they don’t reply, how can this help us learn any languages or make friends if no one talks or replies to our messages?

Unprofessional: When women talk about Misandrist topics such as “Men are toxic- Prove me wrong” as the title of the party rooms. They do not get banned. Even when reported, The Tandem staff reply back saying they banned her, when she never was banned. I saw her the next day on the app again.. But when myself a co-host of the room, who didn’t even make the room i got invited to co host. I get banned for no good reason. Not once did i break rules. But those specific women who LITERALLY are discriminating against men. They do not get banned. They favourite women. If Tandem disagrees with what i’m saying, contact me directly and we can discuss it further. I have all the proof. Until then. This review is 100% factual and real. So do not dare remove this review. People need to know the corruption and favouritism going on the Tandem App between members of Staff. Sexist and Misandrist. UNPROFESSIONAL No one deserves that kind of disrespect and treatment from an application. I am making you money using that app. I deserve respect and fair treatment.

They show you an ad every second profile you look at… it makes the app virtually unusable… they also ban people with total bias… as the moderators understanding of context and language/slang is clearly terrible. So don’t buy a subscription whatever you do as they will ban you over nothing and you will lose money. And now they are limiting you to 10 people a day that you can message which is ridiculous. The app is outdated. There are much better language exchange apps out there.

I pay for a membership on Tandem, I have a new phone and every time I try and sign it its taking me through account creation. I have completely lost access yet I am still paying and cannot cancel.

I really like the idea of the app. However, it is terribly inaccessible. The app is not compatible with the Apple VoiceOver which is ridiculous as nearly 98% of all other apps work with the VoiceOver fine. The lack of accessibility creates a massive exclusion, particularly, for people with sight loss or dyslexia. Without the appropriate VoiceOver support - it is impossible to use the app. Hopefully, the issues will be quickly fixed.

I loved Tandem and I made some good connections there. I know there are fake profiles but I knew tandem couldn’t do much so I didn’t blame it. BUT! I demand you to stop promoting the ads and that’s 1000% in your control! It’s a language learning app not an app to lure people to pay Becuz of those bloody annoying ads. You’ve lost your class and dignity tandem. BRING BACK THE OLD TENDEM!

Constant issues with messages not being delivered or received, despite the other person being online. Means you never know if someone will get your message or you’ll see theirs! Support never replies. Instead they add features like ‘pay to see profiles you’ve visited’ (even for pro subscribers) and buying stars to gift people. Fix the main issues first and then start nickel and diming.

Been on for years. I understand there’s a pro version, I get the need to make money, but the ads are getting out of control. Every profile visit - ad. Every party joined - ad (sometimes 2). Removing features like last online - need pro. Want more than 3 or 4 translations per day? - pro. Just too frustrating now. Getting greedy. I’m out.

It’s impossible to sign up. I’ve been waiting for them to manually allow me to sign up and it’s been weeks.
