After completing the free lessons so easily I was compelled to purchase the rest of the app. It is a bit steep but the learning concept seemed to work with the free lessons. I am on the third ll fourth pay lesson now and am a bit confused. I don’t understand what all these things are for. If you already state x = 8 then why would you need to have all these true ll false constants about x? I guess I would like to know how all of these booleans and stuff are going to be needed in coding. A few examples of why we would need these strings would be helpful. I will update my review when I am done with all the lessons. Hopefully it will all make sense then.

I have started and stopped with learning Swift several times.  This app has finally got me all in on learning.  The app is great I just don’t think the typing portion is that great or just needs to be a larger font. Also, dark mode or themes would be great cause the constant white background is straining.

First of all, it’s free. You can buy early access to lessons or you can go at the recommended pace and the lessons will unlock as you go.

Second, coding is very sensitive to typos. Most of the concepts are clearly written but I’ve found a few typos. There’s a mechanism to report them.

Third, it utilizes a creative way of using the iOS GUI to learn the basics of Swift.  Very cool.

This game is SOOO great, but it needs more. I have a couple suggestions. 1 maybe you could add a playground feature where you can use the code you are learning about to make games. 2 (you are probably already going to do this but I’m saying it again anyway) you should really add more learning categories/add to the learning categories you already have. Paid for app. Made it about halfway through. I liked the pace and parts of the putting it all together aspect, but the “type this” parts really were awful... I mean just worthless. They made me quit, as well as the inability to bypass them. As an iOS app, please make me type as little as possible. App seems unfinished and made me feel miserable... booo
