## tardigrain Description
Tardigrain is a granular synthesiser for iOS that runs standalone or as an AU plugin. Sounds are created by taking smaller fragments of a sample and playing them back in a non linear fashion, with settings for grain size, direction, step size and more. Process the sound further through effects like reverb, wave shaper and sample crush. Tardigrain supports connections with AudioCopy, AudioBus, Inter App Audio and AUv3. Plus all audio parameters can be modulated by MIDI, as AU parameters and by aftertouch on the build in keyboard. Now also a selected set of parameters can be modulated by LFOs och notes triggered by a new sequencer/arpeggiator.

Issues with AUv3 in any apps like these mostly stem from saving presets and especially any kind of audio file support. Word is that audio/sampling is the weakest link when it comes to AUv3. I hope Apple can help make it all more tenable soon, but it seems they just don’t make musicians a big enough priority to get their act together and help developers.

### ***** "a different granular synth"
As with everything Eric Sigth creates, this is unique. Does what you'd expect a granular synthesiser to do, but adds unique features that make it different.

Importing single cycle samples and wavetables into tardigrain is easy and fun. Single cycle waveform samples can be looped, and they play back across the keyboard as you would expect. Looped playback of single cycle samples is uncommon on the ios platform.

You can use this in the effect slot as well, to access the Waveshaper, Reverb, etc. process other instruments through Tardigrain! The effects are great, especially Waveshaper.

There are a few small issues related to AUv3 that need resolving, but this developer always fixes whatever bugs arise. I suspect the issues lay with apple. Still, nothing that stops a user from utilising the instrument.
