Everything Goodreads could be
I stumbled upon this app through an ad, and it gets the job done nicely. The idea, concept, and direction it wants to take is very evident with the presently available content they have. It’s everything I hope Goodreads would have. I particularly love the ratings (humor, spice, tears, etc.), as well as including book tropes and quotes. It’s very Booktok and Bookstagram coded, which is GREAT because that’s literally what we want and the language we speak nowadays in terms of how we look for the next book to read. The bookshelf is also very nice, though I guess I’d like more options with how they look—mainly, that I hope I’d actually get to see what the book spine looks like rather than just the title, one day. Literally putting the bookshelf on my screen would be very nice. However, the look for the TBR, Currently Reading, and Read pages are a bit hard for me to navigate through, with the book icons being way too big for my liking and no option to make it smaller. But making the Rating screen pop up as soon as I tap a book is a very nice touch. (Plus, the app is VERY responsive and loads fast!) Then there’s also the rare case of multiple results coming up for one search (i.e. two or more books of the same title popping up) and that’s somewhat inconvenient. Overall, I’ll probably mostly use this one for when I’m looking for my next read through the ratings and tropes data available, but I look forward to further UI/UX improvements and updates for this one!
